GLENDALE ELEMENTARY
Glendale had 33 students make at more than 10 perfect scores each in A.R. for the first nine weeks. Congratulations to everyone on such a great job! All students who made 10 perfect A.R. scores were entered into a drawing for a “Pete the Cat “ book.
Emma R. who was the winner of the “Pete the Cat” book.
Derion W. , who is 4th-grade student at Glendale was recently awarded a certificate and treat bag for making 20 perfect A.R. scores. Great job Derion!
Glendale Elementary 1st grade Science students engineered a replica of Christopher Columbus’s ship, the Santa Maria to honor Columbus Day.

Glendale Elementary recently help a PBIS assembly for the students. Students were rewarded for many different things and were entertained by the Eunice Jr. High School Cheerleaders, Dance Team, Eunice Jr. High School band and the Bobcat Mascot.
Glendale ‘s 4-H club recently held an election to pick new officers for the 2018 -2109 school year. These are the new 4th grade 4-H officers:

Glendale student, Colin F., was presented with a Positive Office Referral Certificate on October 10, 2018. He is a 3rd grade student in Mrs. Jennifer Fontenot’s class.

Eunice Firefighters recently came to Glendale to teach the students fire safety.

Glendale 3rd grade students were invited to the Historic Liberty Theater in Eunice to listen to the reading of the book, “Clovis Crawfish”, read by the author’s daughter, Jessica Fontenot Landry.

HIGHLAND ELEMENTARY
Highland's wonderful lunch ladies decorated the cafeteria for School Lunch Week... Some of the students colored hearts of food to help decorate.
Highland's 2nd, 3rd and 4th-grade classes attended a field to trip to the Liberty Theater to listen to Mrs. Julie Fontenot Landry read Clovis Crawfish and Batiste Bête Puante.
Mrs. Guillory and Ms. Simpson’s 21 CCLC students at Highland put science to the test by making slime. The activity was entirely student-led by Katerra Ceasor. We had a blast!
Dads & Kids provided lunch for Highland Teachers on Friday for their PD Day.
Lt. Thibodeaux talked to teachers at Highland about civilian response and how to react with an active shooter.
KROTZ SPRINGS
Krotz Springs Elementary’s Majestic Mustangs for the 1st 9 weeks.

Mrs. Runyan's 2nd grade class at Krotz Springs Elementary really enjoyed the safety speeches from Captain Guidroz and Sgt. Cortez. They also enjoyed the demonstration from the police dog, Zig. It was a great extension task to their literary unit, Officer Buckle and Gloria.
Krotz Springs Elementary 5th Grade Jr. Beta members served breakfast to the town's local veterans to thank them for their service.

NORTHWEST HIGH SCHOOL
Thursday and Friday Faculty at NHS participated in the Tribes training under the direction of Tribes trainer Dr. Kerri Prejean. NHS is the first high school in the state of Louisiana to be Tribes trained!
OPELOUSAS HIGH SCHOOL
Students from the Opelousas High School Spanish Club were the only high school students that participated in the Latin Music Festival Saturday, October 6th, 2018, at Girard Parc, in Lafayette, LA
OPELOUSAS JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Opelousas Jr. High participated in World Day of Bully Prevention by wearing blue.
