Attention Seniors!
Mrs. Asch has been working hard to schedule your individual Senior appointments with your counselor. During that appointment, your counselor will discuss your progress toward graduation including State Tests and Credit requirements, the college application process, how to apply for scholarships and financial aid, and more! To be prepared for this meeting, we are asking that you complete the Senior Planning Survey and have your parent complete the Parent Brag Sheet. We would also like you to complete your resume on Naviance. Seniors should check their school email for directions.
If you need a transcript sent to a college or scholarship prior to meeting with your counselor, complete a transcript request form Transcript request (PDF), bring it to Mrs. Saum in the counseling office, and add the college to your Naviance Student account.
PSAT
PSAT Registration: August 28 - October 5, 2018 (or until tests are sold out)
The test will be given during the school day approximately 8AM-1PM.
Location: PHSC Field House
This Fall, nearly 1.5 million Sophomores and Juniors across the United States will take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test-National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). These students will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the testing format used on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), the entrance exam used by colleges and universities.
The PSAT is a standardized test available to Juniors and Sophomores. The PSAT measures critical reading, writing and math abilities and is a great way to prepare for the SAT. For Juniors, the PSAT is used to determine eligibility and qualification for the National Merit Scholarship Program. Registration must be completed by October 5, 2018. Students may pick up their PSAT student packet from the counseling office secretaries after showing proof of payment (these have not arrived yet I believe, so take the student's name and let them know that they will be notified when the manual arrives to come and pick it up).
*PHSC students must use school email only to sign-up below.
*PHSC students should report to class upon arrival to school and wait to be called down to the Fieldhouse for the test.
*PHSC students should follow their regular schedule at the completion of the test.
Online Payment: Log in to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
Once in the Parent Portal, under the fees area, select the drop-down box for optional, and select the
PSAT.
In-person Payment: Those making payments in person, can pay by cash, check, or charge.
