Hi Cannon Parents!
I hope that all families have enjoyed their long weekend! As a reminder, there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 9th (Columbus Day), so we will look forward to seeing all of our Cubs back at school on Tuesday, October 10th!
I would like to remind all of our Cannon dads about our WatchDOG Dad's Kickoff on Wednesday night this week!! Pizza will be provided for dads and kids who come to learn more about this GREAT program!
Thank YOU for all you do to support our students, staff, and school!
Proud to be your principal,
Mrs. Blizzard
Looking For WatchDOG Dads!
WATCH D.O.G.S. ® (Dads Of Great Students) is an innovative father involvement, educational initiative of the National Center For Fathering. It began in 1998 in a single school in Springdale, Arkansas and has since grown into a nationally recognized program that has brought hundreds of thousands of fathers and father figures into our nation’s classrooms and hallways. WATCH D.O.G.S. ® has created millions of “in school” volunteer hours and continues to have a tremendously positive impact on the educational process. Today more than 2,811 schools in 46 states plus DC participate in WATCH D.O.G.S. ®
Program Goals
1) To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
2) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.

GCISD Launches Communications Survey
What are your thoughts about how Grapevine-Colleyville ISD communicates? What do you like about the district website? What do you wish were different? Tell us in the GCISD Communications Survey!
This survey asks community members to share their thoughts on the district’s communication methods, the strengths and weaknesses of the district website, and how informed they feel about district matters. Participants can also share their preferences for how — and how often —they want to be reached.
The survey runs through Tuesday, Oct. 10 and you can take the survey at http://tiny.cc/GCISDCommunicationsSurvey or by clicking the link on our district website, www.gcisd-k12.org. The online survey is available in English and Spanish, and you can take it on any computer, tablet, or smartphone. All responses are confidential.
Once we receive the survey results from our independent research and communications partner, we’ll make a plan to improve our communication efforts. We want to make sure we’re keeping our community in the loop about what’s happening in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD — and we’re reaching you where you are. That process begins by listening to you.
IT'S TIME FOR STORYBOOK PUMPKINS!
Please check out Mrs. Wagner's link below to get all of the details about this year's plan for Storybook Pumpkins! Each student who participates will be allowed to choose a FREE book to keep!
