Tiger Times
April 12, 2021
Good Evening Murphy Families,
I would like to thank everyone that completed the return to school interest survey. This survey will help us identify families that would like to have some in person learning time at school. At this time the instructional format is still distance learning from 10am-2pm. The Murphy staff is committed to continuing to provide your students with a high quality education via distance learning.
Beginning on April 19th, Murphy will offer an additional intervention block from 2pm-4pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Families will be called to participate in the interventions beginning next week.
As we secure staffing and schedules we hope to add in academic hubs during the school instructional day, so we are able to serve even more students in person through distance learning hubs(teacher on the computer/students in the classroom).
I would like to thank you for your patience as there have been many changes around school reopening. I personally want to ensure that what I am communicating to you is the most updated current information, and we can maintain our commitment to you to provide a high quality program for your students. Just know you can always reach out to me. The best way is email or Remind (text app)j, but I am also available to speak in person or on the phone if you prefer.
You should have already received your child's report card via US mail. If you did not, you may ask your teacher to email a copy to you or come by the school to pick up a copy.
Check out the flyers below for more information on a workshop being offered for our African American families and a spring event for families offered by our ELP program.
Have a wonderful week.

- Distance Learning Hub- Student working from a classroom on campus with two classified employees supporting them while their class is streamed. (teacher is not on campus). ( I am working on offering this to students that are interested).
Would Families be able to choose the schedule?
- Unfortunately due to staffing and keeping cohorts together there is currently only one schedule from 2pm-4pm Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday.
- Families would need to commit to that schedule. If that schedule does not work know that all kids will still be receiving the distance learning instruction from their classroom teacher.
- No. Students will receive the same instruction they have been receiving this school year via zoom. You will have a place at Murphy even if you decide to stay home for the remainder of the year.
Do kids have the covid vaccine?
- There is not currently a vaccine for students in our age group.
- Teachers that will teach in person have all been vaccinated.
- In the distance learning hub employees are not required to be vaccinated.
What is the schedule?
- Currently, Murphy's schedule is as follows: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 2pm-4pm. Students will be called according the district identified list.
Safety
Will facemasks be required?
- Yes. All staff and students will be required to use facemasks.
- Students will be required to use the hand sanitizer upon entering the school and classrooms.
- Hand sanitizer is located at every door in the classroom.
- Now that CCC is in orange tier covid testing will be done randomly on campus.
- All families will be required to ensure that they do not send students to school if they don't feel well.
- Staff will check in with students daily regarding health.
- Students that get ill at school will be isolated with me to ensure until they can be picked up.
- All students that have IEPs/and or medical needs are being identified to ensure that their needs are being met to ensure their safe return to school. The special education department, teachers and nurses are working with us to ensure their safety.
End of year party/Promotion
