Different Toys for different ages
Birth to 3 months
-moving objects -bright colors -intersting sounds These all help develop the senses, aslo help a baby to foucuus on a moving object
4 to 6 months
-sense of touch is important -big enough so that it can't be swallowed and small enough to be held and grabbed -plastic toys - stuffed -love simple books with big bright pictures
7 to 9 months
-things to handle, banged, thrown, or kicked -noises and different textures -make sure there are no sharp edges that will hurt the child
10 to 12 months
-toys they can manipulate
-baskets and boxes
-books to look at alone or be read to
-floating toys
Usefulness & Safety
ex. bowls baskets cardboard
-interesting for many years
ex. set of books or blocks
-watch out for toys that are chocking hazards
ex. older sibling's toys
-things they see their parents use and want to touch them too
ex. keys, forks, knifes
