Elkton Elementary School Memo
November 29, 2021
A Note from Mrs. Palmer
Dear EES Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. As we enter the holiday season, as principal of EES, I am both extremely thankful and grateful for our hard-working teachers and staff, for our parents and community members, for our students, and also the great learning environment at EES. Your child is fortunate to have such a caring and nurturing environment for learning.
I would like to welcome Barbara Gregory as a new lunch monitor. She starts tomorrow.
After viewing the Parent Title 1 Video (video), please take a few minutes to complete this Title 1 Survey by Friday, December 3rd. Survey. Reminder that Title 1 parent information is on the weekly memo every week.
Fall Make-up/Retake pictures has been postponed again due to staff shortage. The new date is now December 6th. Strawbridge Photography apologizes for the delay.
I am finding more students arriving to school by car that do not have a mask. It is helpful if your child has a mask upon entry into the school building. I would keep masks in the front pocket of the bookbag. While I do have masks at school, we are giving out more lately. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
If you have any dismissal changes, it is important that you call the school office and not message the teacher. Teachers are busy teaching and may not check SeeSaw/Email/Phone. Call the school at 298-1511.
Please make sure to notify the office if your email address or telephone number changes. It is imperative that we are able to contact you in case of a school-wide emergency or your child becomes ill. In addition, keeping your contact information current will ensure you receive notice of all of the day to day happenings at Elkton as well as the RCPS District.
Please review the Over the Counter Medication Guidelines in the memo (below). The parent must supply these medications for their child (change from prior years).
The Parent/Student Handbook is found at the link below. It contains lots of information. I encourage you to read through it. Call the school before 8:45, if your child will be absent from school. (298-1511)
Call the school by 8:45 AM if your child is feeling ill and will be absent from school. Let us know of any Covid exposures or potential exposures. Safety is a priority at EES.
I wish you well,
Barbara Palmer
