A MESSAGE FROM MRS. LAPLANT
I hope everyone has been able to soak in a bit of sunshine and enjoy time with friends and family these last few weeks. It's hard to believe that fall is just around the corner but I keep telling myself that summer isn't over yet!
Our staff at Country Dale is eagerly awaiting the arrival of our students. Last week, all new employees attended five days of orientation. Tomorrow, the rest of our staff will officially return to our buildings in order to prepare for the upcoming school year.
I think it's safe to say that we've all become accustomed to not always having answers. At this time, I can't say what school is going to be like come September other than I assure you, it will be wonderful! We have an amazing staff and a resilient group of students and I am confident that we are all going to make every day a great one!
I'm looking forward to seeing you all at Open House on Wednesday. If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact me.
OPEN HOUSE EVENT PLANNED THIS WEEK
We are holding our in-person open house event this WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 25th from 5:30-7 pm. Teachers** will be available to meet and greet students and families.
Please note for Open House that masks are recommended and not required by all visitors in the building. In an effort to reduce the possibility of virus spread before schools begin, we ask that during Open House time, you please visit your child’s classroom, drop off necessary supplies and minimize the amount of time spent in the building. Any groups that will be sharing resources or offerings (PTO, Scouts, etc) are being asked to set up tables outside to reduce congregations in the building. **4K staff will not be in attendance at Open House and will schedule "Getting To Know You Day" time with families during the first few days of school.
CATCH UP ON DISTRICT NEWS
Please be sure to read the newest District Newsletter that comes out now every Friday. You can access all the issues here.
4K IMPORTANT INFORMATION
In 4K, we begin the school year with Getting to Know You Days, in which each 4K child, along with one parent, will be invited for a 15-20 minute time slot to come to visit their classroom, drop off supplies, meet their teacher, and of course, answer any questions you or your child may have! 4K students will NOT need to attend the Open House Meet the Teacher Night on August 25th. This year, our Getting to Know You Days are Wednesday, September 1st, Thursday, September 2nd, and Friday, September 3rd from 8 am-4 pm. You should have received communication from your child’s teacher on how to sign your child up for a Getting to Know You Conference.
At this time, all visitors into the school building are required to wear a mask whether you are vaccinated or not, so please plan to bring masks for you and your family. If there are any other changes to the district protocols that would impact the Getting to Know You Days, your teacher will be in touch with additional details and next steps.
NEW SPEAK UP SPEAK OUT FORM
The District has joined “Speak Up Speak Out Wisconsin” for threat or incident reporting. This takes the place of our previous “StopIt” reporting form. Click on this link to view the new form. You will notice as you start typing the name of your school, the choices for schools narrows so you can select your school. By selecting your school, this report goes to the principal or local law enforcement when needed. The video linked below gives a good overview of how “Speak Up Speak Out Wisconsin” works and is good to review with your family.
Going forward, we will have a graphic for Speak Up Speak Out Wisconsin at the bottom of each newsletter that you can click on for quick access to report incidents if needed. You can also add the Speak Up Speak Out App on your phone for quick reporting by utilizing these links: iOS | Android
