HORIZON ELEMENTARY
Home of the Red Tail Hawks
SEPTEMBER 2021
Dear Horizon Families,
What a fantastic group of Horizon Red-Tailed Hawks we have this school year! We have had a very smooth start. Our students are learning many new rules and expectations all while diving into academics. We appreciate every family following all the safety mitigation rules so that we can all stay in school. Thank you for sending your beautiful children to our school every day.
If your child is a bus rider, please remind them to keep their masks on while riding the bus.
We will send a Horizon newsletter home at the start of every month. Here is September's newsletter. Check out the clubs that will be starting up in October.
Kind regards,
Michelle Kelly, Principal
Nurse’s Notes: September 2021
Welcome back Horizon! It is so exciting to have students in the building again. Here are a few reminders to help make this school year a healthier one:
★ Please remember to send your student to school with a face mask (and a spare or two). Per district policy, masks should be two layers. Gaiters, bandanas and neoprene masks typically only have one layer. Here are a few pictures that show this:
SPASD mask policy linked here.
★ Please continue to use the Covid-19 Symptom Screener: This form should be checked daily, before your student(s) attends in person learning.
○ One symptom in ‘part one’ or two (or more) symptoms in “part two” require Covid testing before returning to school. The form is linked here.
■ Please note that if your student stays home from school, you may be contacted by someone in the Health Services Department to discuss symptoms and/or a return date (if applicable)
