HOMELESSNESS
What can you do to help this growing problem?
How to help....
Nearly 600 walkers put a “spring” in their steps and raised more than $95,000 for Family Promise Metrowest on Saturday, April 11. Homelessness is a big, increasing problem, yet nobody seems to step up and help. These people who started the walk made a big difference in society and hopefully started something that many more people can follow in their footsteps.
Helpful hand
All homeless people need is a helping hand, so step up and make a difference!
How does it affect the public?
Without proper vaccinations almost 98% of homeless people become ill. They have no way to get medication and become a hazard to the environment around them. Diseases can spread quicker and the public could be at risk.
Growing problem...
More than 578,000 people were homeless in the United States on a given night. Almost 70 percent were living in emergency shelters or in transitional housing programs, while 31 percent were living unsheltered. Nearly one-fourth (23 percent) were children younger than 18 years of age.
Start walking!!!
There are many different ways to be an advocate for helping homelessness! For instance, start fundraising and send the profits to a homeless shelter! You can start a run for the cause or maybe a car wash or even a bake sale! Anything that could help the homeless can make a huge difference! Make a difference and change somebody's life!!
