"Full STEAM Ahead": Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math
Parents:
The pleasure of your company is being requested to join us on Wednesday, September 27 as we are roll out our "Full STEAM Ahead" initiative with our Lower School students. We wanted to tell you about this exciting science expo well in advance so that you can make plans to attend.
We have reserved the wood gym for the day and have invited several of our very own Middle School and Upper School teachers to perform demonstrations within their subject disciplines for our Lower School students throughout the day:
S - Science - Ms. Alker; Mrs.Donovan
T - Technology - Mr. Berry
E - Engineering - Mr. Staples
A - Art - Mrs. Gatto; Mr. White
M - Math - Mrs. Llewellyn; Mrs. Ross
Biblical Integration - Sid Galloway
The students will rotate every 15-20 minutes among the various stations set up in the gym:
K-2nd Grade - 8:30-10:30
3rd - 4th Grade & ULP - 11:30-1:30
Grounded in a Christian worldview, NCS Lower School offers students a strong academic curriculum. This program provides a solid foundation in basic content areas, at the same time encouraging strong character and social skills.
As we begin preparations to implement our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) initiative for the 2017-2018 in grades PreK - 12, here is an overview of these subject disciplines as they pertain to Lower School (K-4):
Overview of Lower School STEAM Subject Disciplines
If you'd like to learn more about STEAM, we welcome you to come and take part in our F~U~L~L day!
After School Clubs
In an effort to enhance our Lower School programs several of our teachers have committed to offering after school clubs this Fall.
Below you will find a list of clubs being offered, a brief description of the objectives and activities, the days of the week and locations of the clubs, and the grade levels and genders of the participants for each club. If you would like additional information about a club, you may also find, on the form, the name of the faculty sponsor to whom you should direct all questions. Please note that the Fall clubs are once per week for eight weeks beginning the week of September 18 and ending the week of November 10.

If you would like for your child to sit with you in our visitors' section, so as not to disturb our worship time, parents who are attending chapel should arrive prior to the start of chapel, check in at the office for a name tag, and head over to the gym to wait for your children.
