Iowa Alliance for Choice in Education (Iowa ACE)

The Iowa Alliance for Choice in Education (Iowa ACE) is the umbrella organization that unites all of the accredited parochial and private schools in Iowa. Their primary purpose is to work with administrators to be the voice supporting school choice in Iowa for all of us. As superintendent I represent the Archdiocesan schools in that effort.

· Most recently, Iowa ACE has proposed the development of Educational Savings Accounts (ESA) to assist parents to choose the best educational opportunity for their children regardless of income or address. If you have not yet viewed their video I would encourage you to do so at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yx1350eBtuA. This nine minute video will explain the concept being considered.

Thank you for your continued support of Catholic Schools and have a very Merry Christmas Season.

Notes from the Principal

The Sparkle Box

During the Advent Season your child has been seeing a sparkle box in their classroom. I am not sure if they have shared with you the story behind the box but please ask them about the Sparkle Box and the type of presents or notes that go into the box. I am hopeful that they can continue the sharing and good things that are part of the Sparkle Box for the remainder of advent and also continue to build on the gifts of the season for the entire year.

Merry Christmas

From all of the staff I do want to wish you a Merry Christmas and hope that you have a special Holiday Season. Enjoy the time with your family and by January 6th, we’ll be ready to start 2014! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
