SCHOOL HAPPENINGS

SEATBELTS ARE FOR EVERYONE

Next Monday and Tuesday we will be conducting the sign up for the first Seat Belts Are for Everyone drawing. Find Officer Kintzel during lunch, and sign a pledge card (to always wear your seat belt) to get signed up for a chance to win a $25 Visa gift card just for wearing your seat belt.

LAPTOP REPAIRS

Students who have issues with their Chromebooks will utilize the media center for repairs. Once you have used your free repair, there is a cost associated with all future repairs. Please take care of your Chromebooks. We have seen an influx of screens being damaged by horseplay or lack of care. Screen replacements are $30.
Thank you for your help,

- Mr. Riedy

SELF-DIRECTION

This month we’re challenging students to work together toward a common goal and shared purpose. We are partnering with you to grow and develop teamwork in your child. We can do this by modeling gratefulness, acknowledging positive moments, and affirming each other. Use this month’s activities to practice working together and celebrate your family as a team.

Empower: Walk in My Shoes - Create a culture of appreciation and gratitude at home by

celebrating the best in each family member. Have every family member trace one of their shoes, then trade drawings and write three words you admire about that family member on

their “shoe.” Discuss how each family member brings something great to your family team.

COUNSELOR'S CORNER

SUICIDE PREVENTION INFORMATION

Hello parents,

This week we concluded our grade-level suicide prevention presentations. Students were given information and tools to help prevent suicide. These conversations can be difficult for some students. We followed up with those that presented. Please follow up with your teen and let us know if the counseling department can assist in any conversations. Attached are resources that we provided to your student and want to make sure you are aware of. Please let Mr. Bohanon, Mrs. Lang, or Mrs. Ricke know if we can assist your student.

SCHEDULE CHANGES

Parents,
Second semester schedules will be viewable to your student on November 14th. After the 14th, we can proceed with schedule changes. As your student(s) request a schedule change keep in mind the following:
  • Our schedule was built on the choices students made last year. The schedule is not built to accommodate requests that were not in their original choices. Please know that will be looked at as your student request a schedule change.
  • Teacher requests are NOT honored. We try to keep students with the same teachers for continuity, although we know sometimes that is impossible.
  • We will not overload classes in order to accommodate requests.

Please make sure your students know this information before they request a schedule change. Thanks in advance.
