This Week In 5th Grade

We are moving full steam ahead with curriculum this week while continuing to practice routines and procedures. The students are working hard to learn all the expectations in a new environment and settle into Math, Reading and Writing Workshops. In Science they have begun to use their science tools and safety rules to investigate the properties of Matter. We have also welcomed in some new 5th graders this week from out of state.

Spelling Has Started

The students brought home their 1st Spelling list this week. Students will need to practice their words at home and there will be a test each Friday. If there is no school on Friday the tests will be given on Thursdays.

New Payment Programs for Frisco ISD

This year Frisco has moved from MyPaymentsPlus to TWO new programs for payments.

NEW SYSTEMS PROVIDE FREE ONLINE PAYMENT OPTION

Frisco ISD parents will have the option to make free online payments via electronic check for meals and other campus and classroom fees in the coming school year. The District is moving to two separate systems – SchoolCafé for meals and OnlineSchoolFees for other fees such as class t-shirts and field trips.

OnlineSchoolFees.com: Preferred method of payment for grade level class t-shirts and field trips!

Attached are the instructions for the new Online School Fees system. Setting up an account is free, and you can add multiple students.

Parent web address - http://www.onlineschoolfees.com/

There is a small fee associated with this new Online School Fees system if you use a credit or debit card for payment, but if you use an ACH check, there is no charge- NICE! Frisco ISD recommends that you use your checking account information for easy payments and no fees.

We encourage you to set up your free account today and be ready to pay for the $11 class t-shirt between August 13 and August 30. Other payments, such as field trips, will be added at a later time.

For meals, we are using school cafe: https://www.schoolcafe.com/FRISCOISD. If your child had money remaining in his/her account at the end of the year, it was transferred into their school cafe account. You will still need to set up a new account with your student's information in order access the account to add money, etc.

Here is the link to the Frisco ISD website that discusses both systems a bit more in-depth…
