Erpenbeck Enquirer
June 17th, 2020
From Your Principal, Mrs. Pass
I have joined you and fellow Americans in the last few weeks and months bear witness to the global pandemic, the civil unrest and terrible events we are watching unfold in our country.
I believe there are injustices in our world created by fear and spread by hatred. However,
I don't know that I am quite qualified to speak publicly on the issues we are presently facing. I am, like many of you, taking this time to sort through my own emotions and reflect on my experiences (or lack of experiences) and evaluate my personal and professional responsiveness, growth and next steps.
Right now, I am going to focus my energy on listening. I encourage you to join me.
Take some time this summer to listen to a podcast, read a book, solicit an uncomfortable yet powerful conversation- seek out sources that will help provide perspectives you may never have considered. Let other's opinions challenge you and maybe change you. That's part of the growth mindset we covet at our school. Listen without developing an inner narrative and without deciding if you agree or don't agree. Just listen.
We have work to do in our school, community and world. EES is a place where all people are valued, respected and loved. Thank you for continuing to make this true within our school and beyond.
This has been a very hard time for many people. Take care of yourself, and take care of others.
Our district's message is here.
District Parent Survey
Hello Boone parents and guardians! This email contains the links for the PARENT surveys. We are inviting you to share your ideas and opinions as we plan school re-entry for the 2020-21 school year. With many variables facing us, your opinion is valued in helping us formulate a plan for the upcoming school year. We encourage all parents and guardians to take the survey. Please complete ONE SURVEY PER SCHOOL in which you have a student enrolled by midnight on SUNDAY, JUNE 21st. Your answers will help us better meet your expectations of how returning to school should look. Thank you!

COVID and the Upcoming School Year
Seven Hills Go Packs UPDATED Information
Hello everyone! Next week we are changing the hours we do our food pick up from 12 to 5 Monday – Friday. We will be providing GoPacks through the end of June.
We have made sure that our facility where these bags were packed was cleaned and disinfected. All volunteers involved in packing these wore gloves and were not COVID-19 symptomatic in any way at the time of packing.
Parents can pick up a GO PACK next week Monday 15th – Friday 19th
Where: 7 Hills Church (6800 Hazel Ct. Florence, KY 41042). Follow the signs to the RED FLAGS/RED TENT on campus. Families will pick up their GO PACK at the red flags/red tent
When: Monday 15th – Friday 19th from 12pm to 5pm
*For us to best serve our community we are asking that families only request 1 box per 2 family members in their household.
It will be a drive-thru experience so parents will not need to get out of their car. Our volunteers will walk the packs out to their car with gloves on and will maintain appropriate distance. We appreciate everything you are doing to serve families during this time. Stay safe and well!
Best,
The 7 Hills Church Outreach Team
Welcome to the Kindergarten Team, Mrs. Barker!
Welcome to the Mustang Media Center Mrs. Dawson!
My name is Emily Dawson and I’m so excited to be joining your staff! I’m transferring from Goodridge Elementary where, for the past 8 years I’ve been the librarian (aka: media specialist, library media specialist, teacher-librarian, and one of my favorites, Library LadyJ).
I grew up in western Kentucky, received my Bachelor’s from UK, and taught 1st and 2nd grades in Scott County for 3 years. After completing my Master’s in Library and Information Science from UK, I worked as a librarian in Fayette County for 4 years.
In late 2004, I moved with my family to the Cincinnati area and now live on the west side of Hamilton County with my husband David, our children, Ben and Abby, and our dog Stella. Ben has just graduated from St. Xavier High School and will attend OSU in the fall. Abby has just finished her freshman year at Mount Notre Dame High School.
When I’m not being a librarian, some of my favorite things to do are travel, watch movies with my family, hike, bake, and garden. My favorite activities are to watch are water polo and marching band, which happen to be the same activities my kids are involved in.
Welcome to our new counselor, Ms. Mayberry!
Welcome Briana Smith, our new Art teacher!
Welcome to First Grade, Ms. Shea!
Best Wishes to our friend, Mrs. Sheehy, upon her retirement
Congratulations to Mr. Rod, our new head custodian!
