From the Director's Desk

We would like to thank the 6th Grade Community Service group students and Mrs. Piazzola for helping our in our office recently. They cleaned and sorted teacher tool-kits for upcoming meetings and it was greatly appreciated. We look forward to having you back to help again.

It was also so fun to have lunch with the students from Pleasant Valley school and Ms. Sheets while they were in town for a field trip.

We are looking forward to continuing our Winter Math PD, wrapping up our SEL Book Study, and meeting with the IEFA & Math teams this month.

Nate Chute NMEC Resilience Support For Educators

This is a free three-session workshop that will result in up to six (6) OPI Renewal Units. Created by the Nate Chute Foundation and brought to you virtually. Open to all Co-op educators who are not part of Kalispell Public Schools (SD5 has their own series available).

Virtual (Yet Hands-On) Winter Math PD With Kristin Hilty

Kristin Hilty, of Hilty Mathematics Consulting, will be providing six two-hour sessions on select Tuesdays in January & February for K-8 Math teachers and HS Intervention Specialists. Hands-on materials will be provided to registrants to use as well. Participants who register for one or more of the sessions will be given access to digital resources for and recordings of all six sessions. Please see the flyer for more information.

Mathematics Collaboration

This meeting is intended to bridge the gap between math review cycles, which, due to the updated phases put into place by the OPI in the past couple of years, has made several subject areas spread beyond the usual 5-year range.

The day will be structured to allow for topical discussions on practices, instructional pedagogy, and supports in both horizontal and vertical groups throughout the day. This will not be a formal review of standards and curriculum support documents, but rather an opportunity to learn from each other.
