Tina Meier is Coming to Talk to Parents-Wednesday, February 3rd from 6:00-7:00 p.m. (New Central Office)

“Dear Parents/Guardians: I am inviting you to a parent meeting for a very important awareness and educational event with Tina Meier on February 3, 2016 from 6 -7 pm. The meeting will be held at the Winfield R-IV Central Office (100 8th Street). Tina is a nationally acclaimed cyber safety speaker whose daughter took her own life at age 13 following a severe cyberbullying attack provoked by an adult neighbor. We often hear that one of our greatest fears as a parent is the possibility that our children could be victimized or harmed online.” -Winfield Central Office

Cold Weather Preparation

Big image
With the cold weather upon us we wanted to take a moment to remind our families of the importance of proper winter attire for all of our young Warriors. Please make sure that your child comes to school dressed for the weather each day. We will continue to hold outdoor recess when possible. If you are in need of any assistance in getting a coat for any of our students please contact the office and we will assist you in making sure all of our Warriors are prepared for the cold weather ahead of us.

Our rule at Winfield Primary School is 32 degrees. If it is 32 degrees or higher, we are heading outside to enjoy the fresh air. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Evaluate Data for 2nd Grade

This year we have added a district test that aligns with the Missouri State Performance Test. This assessment is given monthly and evaluates our student success over all the standards taught through the end of 2nd Grade. Below you will find our current evaluate data.

On the first graph, you can see the growth that we have made in the areas of math and English Language Arts. The first arrow points up showing you that we made an 8% increase in math and an 11% increase in ELA. This is from last month to this month :) Great job 2nd Grade students.

In the second set of graphs, our goal is to get rid of the red bar and boost up all the other colors. When the red bar is gone, our 2nd graders are projected to score proficient and or advanced on the state test. Proficient and advanced mean that our students are at or above grade level.
