FROM THE OFFICE

NEW INFORMATION

  • HAPPY STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK! Don't forget about lunch on Tuesday and breakfast on Wednesday.

  • Manchester Market Day - To help reduce "shenanigans," I'm asking my 7th and 8th grade teachers to find a partner during their appointed shopping times. We will be allowing only students with money to attend the market. Those students should go with one teacher while those without money stay behind with the other teacher. Thank you for your help with this.

  • A huge thank you goes to our amazing middle school staff! Lately, we've been short substitutes. I'm incredibly impressed and grateful to those who step up and help cover classes during your planning time.

  • Our faculty meetings were slightly off schedule this year (this happened across the district). Therefore, we'll only have one meeting during the month of May: May 19. It will be a traditional faculty/staff meeting in the media center.

  • The Manchester Community Schools Foundation's annual Celebrity Server Night is Tuesday, May 3rd. Stop by Frank's and Dairy Queen from 4 to 8 p.m. to be waited on by your favorite teachers and administrators past and present. All tips directly support programs in our schools. See you there.

  • From Matinga: I am writing to ask if you would help me encourage your teachers to take advantage of the Shoulder to Shoulder visits. Like in our other schools, everyone is feeling the stress and pressures of the traditional 'sprint to the end' phase. Please take advantage of this unique resource: a personal one to one consultation at their beck and call.

  • From Charlene Mangi: MCS educators are invited to attend free, mixed-level yoga classes this May. The practice of yoga has been shown to have many benefits- from healing injuries, to stress-reduction and mindfulness, to increasing strength and flexibility.

Staff from any building are invited to attend any class, or all three classes. Here are some details:

All classes will begin at 3:45 to allow teachers from all buildings to get there. Classes will be 1 hour long, ending at 4:45.

May 2nd- High School- Student Activities Room

May 26- Middle School- Room 308 (Srsly room) room change

May 31- Klager- Room 119 (OT room) date change
