The Paragraph Writing Strategy
Strategic Instruction Model (SIM)
For some students, writing is easy. For others, it’s nothing short of torture. “What can I say? How do I say it?” Fortunately, writing paragraphs is a skill that students can learn—especially if you teach them the Paragraph Writing Strategy. This strategy provides step-by-step instructions to do just that! Important: Being able to write a variety of simple, compound, complex and compound-complex sentences with correct punctuation is a prerequisite skill for students to master this strategy. If your students don't have these skills yet, then this is not the SIM Writing strategy to start with. Instead look for The Proficiency in Sentence Writing Strategy.
