Your Participation Matters More Than Ever!
Dear GWA Family,
Whether you are new to our school or a veteran family, I encourage you to join me in taking part in one of the most successful tax credit opportunities in the nation. At GWA, we believe that any student who desires and deserves to be here, should be. Especially now, with the economic hardship in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are striving to assist our school families in every possible way, and you can help.
Through Georgia GOAL, you and I can designate some of the taxes we must pay anyway, to provide tuition assistance for qualifying students seeking a GWA education. In exchange for your contributions, you will receive a 100% Georgia income tax credit. However, the $100 million dollar state-wide cap for 2020 is going fast, and only about $12 million in tax credits remain available; and independent schools all across the state are vying for these funds. Please help us secure some of the remaining funds for GWA students by taking just 20 seconds to apply for a state tax credit at www.goalscholarship.org. GOAL will submit your application to the Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR). No further action is required until your payment is due within 60 days following DOR approval. It’s a dollar-for-dollar tax credit, so you see every dollar back when you file your 2020 taxes.
Did you know that in the years following the Great Recession (2008-2017), private school enrollment fell by 12% nationwide? However, private school enrollment in Georgia fell by only 0.4% (or four tenths of one percent) during the same period. This tax credit became law in 2008 and most certainly helped to ease the negative impact for Georgia independent schools after the last recession, and can also help us weather the COVID crisis, by providing financial aid to keep our enrollment numbers strong.
GOAL funding has already strengthened our school in countless ways through academic and extracurricular growth, as well as increased enrollment. Higher enrollment leads to more tuition income, which enables us to consistently deliver quality learning experiences and other offerings to our student body. In addition, when you contribute through GOAL and maximize our available financial aid, it enables our Annual Fund dollars to go further in meeting other critical needs at our school.
Please join me in contributing what you can through GOAL for a 100% Georgia income tax credit in support of GOAL’s current and future students.
Thank you in advance for your important participation. Please contact Tara Gill or Jenni Cole with any questions at tgill@gwa.com or jcole@gwa.com.
Sincerely,
Tara Gill
