School Closure Extended
March 25, 2020 - Schools will be closed through April 24
Due to continued concerns about the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Dr. Karen Salmon, State Superintendent of Schools, has announced an extension of the school closure through April 24, 2020. Please know we anticipated this extension, and we have been preparing to support our students, staff, and our school families as we all work through this challenge.
We understand there will be many questions in the wake of this announcement. Please be assured that on Thursday, March 26 by 5:00 p.m., Washington County Public Schools will share more information about how we move forward to finish out the 2019-2020 school year and how we will ensure teaching and learning continue during the closure. We appreciate your patience and support as we work with teachers to plan the implementation of our interim instructional program.
A Message from the Superintendent
We will continue to do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by following federal and state directives and making decisions with the health of our community as our first priority. We are all in this together, and we thank you for your partnership as Washington County faces this national challenge.
