Welcome Back to School!
Summer Reading Edition
Delran High School
We're excited to welcome everyone back to school in just a few weeks! At Delran High School, we created a new summer reading "program" called Delran Reads. With a choice of twelve young adult/high school books, students and all staff were asked to choose one book to read this summer. We are eagerly waiting for our first Book Club discussion in September where students and staff will share their thoughts and discuss relevant questions pertaining to the selected book. Summer Reading at Delran High School is mandatory. Additional assignments for other courses may have been assigned.
Delran Middle School
Once again, our Middle School offered five choices of books at each grade level. These books offer a variety of genres and levels to meet the needs and interests of all our students. The titles can be found on the Middle School website and the link below. Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of their chosen book early in September in their reading class. We look forward to sharing our thoughts and opinions about the books that were read this summer. Summer reading at Delran Middle School is mandatory. (Pictures below are just one from each grade...more choices are available on the website and the link below).
Delran Intermediate School
While summer reading is optional for our younger students, we highly encourage all students to read over the summer break. This year, DIS will host "Books over Breakfast." We will celebrate with our students who chose to read and log their summer reading with the gift of a book and a breakfast treat. Please see the school's website (or the link below) for specific instructions. Log sheets are due on Friday, September 8, 2017.
Millbridge Elementary School
Even our youngest readers can enjoy the benefits of reading all year long! Reading to your child provides so many advantages- not just exposure to books. Think back to the great times you may have spent listening to a family member read to you and the precious time you spent together. Please take a few minutes to open and read the links below for ideas and suggestions to help your child with reading.
