All students have access to TEAM time!

Please remind students that they ALL have access to TEAM time! Some students have been giving teachers the impression that they can't leave athletics to come get help. That is definitely not true! Any student needing help can attend TEAM time to get assistance.

Holy moly...progress reports - make sure you read!!!

This year, progress reports are going to be handled a little differently. What this means to you is that you need to make sure that your grades are updated to perfection at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, September 15 and then do NOT update them again until after 4:00 pm on Friday, September 17.

Here is what was sent to parents in today's newsletter:

This year, progress report grades and report card grades are available in electronic format. Parents may view and print their child(ren)’s interim progress report grades and report card grades by using txConnect, rather than receiving paper copies. Parents will be notified as soon as the interim progress report grades and report card grades are available in txConnect.

The grade on txConnect are identical to what is available on the campus.

Parents will be notified of progress report grades through our parent communication system, Parentlink. Progress report dates are also posted on the district calendar. When grades are posted, parents will receive an electronic notification alerting them to log into txConnect to check grades. Due to advances in technology that give parents real-time access to their student’s grades, progress reports are not mailed home. Parents without Internet or mobile access may obtain a paper copy of their child’s progress report by contacting the front office of your child’s school.

Information on how to access your student's grades was sent home with your student today! If you need a copy, please contact our front office.

Thanks for all the great information shared on Thursday. Talking about how to help kids succeed is one of my favorite parts of my job. Leaving this in here on purpose - Online Training (exchange days requirement):

Your nine (9!) compliance videos must be watched by October 14! These will allow you to exchange this time for two days of work in June. A third exchange date can be earned by completing 6 more hours of professional development on your own time between July 1, 2014, and the end of the year. Paras and admin have to complete the mandatory training videos during school time...somehow. If you are having difficulties meeting the deadline, please let me know!

PDAS - Not for everyone this year!

If you received the email that contained this information already, then you are being PDAS-ed. If not, then ignore the plea to complete the online training that didn't work.

You are scheduled to be PDAS-ed this year. If you feel you have received this message in error, please see Eric or me ASAP!

You will need to accomplish two things within the next few days...complete the PDAS orientation (watch the 10 minute online video at, sign the affidavit attached below that you have watched this video AND complete and submit the TSR Form (section 1 and 2 ONLY) in Eduphoria. The video needs to be watched by Monday and the forms are all due by the end of the day on September 19. The TSR Form is pretty quick.

Character Ed Talks - mark your calendar!

One of our district-wide focuses this year is on building student character. Alan Haire will be speaking to our students monthly about different character traits. This month, he will be speaking to students during athletic periods. If you have students from the noted grade levels during these times, they will leave your class to go to the MAC. so, be prepared to lose students.

Please feel free to join us so you can hear the message! It's good stuff!

First CIP Team Meeting is Wednesday!

There is a google doc that shows which teams still have openings. Be sure to sign up or you will get stuck on the no-fun committee AND I will think you don't read your newsletter. Alan and Zane will cover athletics so that all the coaches can attend.
