Great Escape: The Venture Classroom

This year your Venture classroom has become a part of a large movement. The movement is called the Great Escape. The goal is to solve multiple puzzles that will give you the combination to a lock. Once these combinations have been solved and the locks are open you are able to escape with the prize.

Now that you and your Venture class have escaped the Venture classroom with the highly regarded Venture Secret, you will work to develop a new Venture Escape for another school. Based on the example that you have just completed you will design individual or group challenges that will lead other Venture students to the combination to unlock the prize.

To engineer seven puzzles and set the combinations to the locks, that keep the Venture Secret hidden away. The seven puzzles coincide with the seven letters of VENTURE and with seven locks.

Criteria/ Constraints:

  • 1. Students will work as a whole group or in small groups to complete the challenge.
  • 2. Students will engineer different puzzles for each of the seven locks.
  • 3. No other locks can be added to the set.
  • 4. Only the materials provided can be used.
  • 5. Students will set the “Venture Secret” held inside.
  • 6. Each puzzle must be different.
  • 7. Each combination puzzle must coincide with the letter and corresponding lock.
  • 8. Finale puzzles must be typed and printed neatly. An answer key must be provided in the Teacher’s Guide Envelope.
