Final Friday Message for 2021-2022
Today, as our seniors pass through our halls for the last time, I am confident they take with them a strong foundation from which to continue to pursue their goals and aspirations. I am incredibly proud of all your accomplishments and excited for what the future holds for you. I encourage each one of you to continue to work hard, dream big, and know you have the potential to become leaders, trailblazers, and productive citizens who can make meaningful contributions in the next chapter of your lives.
The diplomas you will receive next week represent an exciting milestone as well as an important transition to the next chapter of your lives. Thank you for the collaborative contributions you have made in academics, athletics, performing arts, and citizenship during your tenure at TCSC. You are a source of inspiration to the next generation of Blue Devils. As you embark on a new journey along your road to success, remember the words of Eleanor Roosevelt, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
It is my pleasure to announce that Lela Crawford has been selected to receive an Outstanding Early Career Educator Award from the IU Kokomo School of Education. This award recognizes an IUK graduate’s successful entry into the profession and early contributions to their school community. Lela, a 2014 THS graduate, who teaches 2nd grade at TES, has been with TCSC since 2018. She is a dynamic young teacher whose passion and creativity helps her inspire, engage, and connect with her students. She works tirelessly to create an inviting, nurturing, and fun learning environment and it has paid off in a big way in terms of student achievement. Congratulations!
Speaking of congratulations, TCSC recently graduated its 2nd Tipton Academy Class. We had an incredible group who care deeply about the students, staff, and school corporation. It was a pleasure to take these local community leaders and school district parents on an interactive and informative journey through the many facets of running a successful school district. Over the past school year, graduates were immersed in our school buildings and participated in extended dialogue and hands-on activities to explore TCSC values, services, challenges, and approach to education.
The Class of 2022 includes, Mark Baird (Tipton Community Foundation), Whitney Bergman (Community Member/Parent), Diane Butler (Logan Graham & Conner Accountants), Cyndi Day (Retired Teacher), Jason Henderson (Tipton County Surveyor), Christine Hoover (Boys & Girls Club of Tipton), Chad Huff (Tipton County Foundation), Shelly Powell (Tipton County Library), and Jim Purvis (Baumgartner Asphalt). Thank you for investing in education in Tipton.
As a reminder, Kindergarten Round-up takes place next Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at TES. Click here if you haven’t signed up or need to adjust your scheduled time. The first day of summer school also begins on Tuesday. On Saturday, May 28, we will proudly host our 145th commencement ceremony at the THS Gymnasium from 11 a.m. to noon.
2021-2022 has been a great year, and we have already started to plan for next year. As we've said before, there is no better time to be a Blue Devil! We look forward to the fall and the completion of our Tipton Ford Field facility upgrades, Total Seed Production Greenhouse, Tennis Courts, student parking lot, as well as outdoor signage and safety upgrades. During the summer we will begin our interior upgrades at Tipton High School and Tipton Elementary School. We are already preparing for the complications and the excitement of our facilities upgrade, we will share more throughout the summer and into next year!
I appreciate your interest, involvement, and support you’ve shown us throughout the year. I am deeply grateful for the efforts on everyone’s part to make this a remarkably successful year. #BlueFuture
Have a great summer!
