NATURAL DISASTERS
The worst disasters in the world aren't produced by humans
There are two types of disasters:
- On one hand, there is human disasters, which are produced by humans. Normally they are nuclear leaks, wars, atomic bombs, forest fires etc., but they aren't usually the most devastating.
- On the other hand, there is natural disasters and they normally are the most devastating.
Hurricane
Strong wind, especially when turning in circles.
Tsunami
Giant wave that can be caused by an earthquake.
Earthquake
I ground shaking produced by movement of tectonic plates.
Types of natural disasters.
Hurricane or tropical cyclone
It is a violent tropical storm with winds spiraling around a nucleus, called eye, and it can produce winds, large waves, tornadoes, torrential rains etc.
The Hurricane Patricia was the most intense tropical cyclone ever made, It was discovered in October 2015 and it reached winds ups 350 km/h. They hit Mexico and caused numerous disasters, but barely deaths.
Something very similar to a hurricane hit Galicia in 2009, the cyclone Klaus. It reached winds ups 216 km/h (Estaca de Bares).
Ciclogénesis explosiva Klaus (23/24-1-2009)
Tsunami or Seaquake
The tsunami is a big wave that devastate a city or a village. The 90% of these phenomena are caused by earthquakes, in which case they are more correct and accurate name seaquake.
The most devastate tsunami was the Indonesia tsunami in 2004 and that cause 230.000 deaths and extensive damage.

Earthquake or seism
It's a phenomenon of sudden jolt and transient crustal.
How do earthquakes happen? | World Vision emergencies
The strongest earthquake with 9.5 magnitude on the Richter scale was in 1960, in Chile. There were around 1,500 deaths, big disasters and nearly 2,000,000 people were left homeless.
Others natural disasters
Volvanic eruption
Violent emission at the surface of materials from inside the volcano.
The most famos volcanic eruption is from the Vesubio and the city of Pompeii. More than 2,000 people were killed instantly or were buried alive beneath a blanket of ash.

Drought
Lack of rain for an extended period of time produces dry fields and water shortages. Atacama desert is the driest area in the world.
Flooding
Occupation by water areas that are currently free of this, overflow of rivers, watercourses by heavy rains, melting, by rising tides above the usual level, tidal waves, etc.
