Face Covering District Policy
Boise School District Face Covering Procedures:
Masks are required for all students, staff, and visitors while inside all District facilities.
Under District Policy 3223, “the Board requires every student to dress in a manner that provides for a safe and healthy school environment.” Under Idaho Code 33-512(11) and District Policy 5234, the Principal or site administrator has the power and duty to prohibit entrance and/or provide for the removal from any District premise or any District sponsored activity, regardless of location, any individual or individuals whose presence is detrimental to the health or safety of students or other individuals.
The City of Boise and Central District Health have each issued Orders that require masks/face shields to be worn in schools. The Center for Disease Control has issued guidance that face coverings should be worn in schools.
The only exceptions to this District procedure will be for a valid medical condition. Persons who cannot medically tolerate wearing a face covering will be excused from such. Medical documentation shall be required. For students, parents and visitors, documentation shall be submitted to the building nurse. For staff, medical documents shall be submitted through the ADA process with the Human Resources Department.
