Message from the Principal
Dear Knight Families,
We survived another April Fool's day in middle school. Kudos to the three brave 6th graders who successfully delivered toothpaste-filled Oreos to Mr. Deprez and me. Gross, but ha...ha, very funny! I may have heard that students were going to have their own free dress day today as a joke. That would have been funny too but I figured today was perfect for our free dress reward from our toiletry drive. Sadly, there were some disappointed jokesters out there today. Maybe next year!
Masks
Our staff and students will continue wearing masks to finish this crazy school year. I am as excited as most about things opening up, but I also feel that we are definitely benefiting from wearing our masks at school this quarter. Thank you parents for your support!
AZM2
AZ Merit 2 (AZM2) testing is next week. We are back to paper-based testing this year and will be done with testing by next Thursday. Early bedtimes and healthy breakfasts are always helpful, especially during testing. We're excited to see what our students have been able to accomplish and learn this year. I will be emphasizing a low-stress week with little to no homework. Please scroll down for our testing schedule.
ACP Booster President Wanted for Next year
Our wonderful Booster President, Sheresa Pompay, is moving on as her daughter is headed to high school!
I would LOVE to have a new booster president for next year set by the end of this month if possible. I will be sending more info out to all future parents about this opportunity. It is a great position with all access to campus activities. Sheresa and our current treasurer, Janice Rogers, are ready to help with the transition so it will be smooth and rewarding! Please email me at alcala.tony@cusd80.com or Cheri Smith at smith.cheri@cusd80.com if you are interested. Thank you!
Thank you Boosters!
Our AZM2 snacks and water bottles arrived today thanks to our super generous boosters club parents. Thank you so much for your generosity and for always coming to the rescue.
Please scroll for more information on next week's happenings! I wish you a happy holiday weekend.
Go Knights!
