Davenport's Weekly Update
Week of February 21st, 2021
Message from the Principal
Greetings,
GOODBYE February of LOVE and Happy MARCH MADNESS!
We are moving into the LONGEST month of the school year, which I like to call MARCH EDUCATION MADNESS. To this end, MADNESS does not have to be viewed as a negative term or simply for basketball, this can be our opportunity to turn the month into a FUN time for staff, students and families by doing reading challenges, math fact goals, or outdoor family fun activities.
I challenge you to focus on MARCH “Reading” MADNESS! Next week Monday begins our Read Across America Spirit Week. Commit to reading one, two, or more books this month. Share the stories read with teachers, friends, or family. Take some time to relax and have a good laugh with a comic adventure book genre or become a detective with a mystery genre book.
What ever you decide to do for MARCH MADNESS, remember to have FUN while engaging in it (safely of course:).
Until next week,
Have a great weekend!

Lego Creations
Students in Mrs. Hamilton's MD K-1 class celebrated National Lego Day by creating their favorite animal. They were then asked to create something using their imagination; the results were truly creative and inspiring!
Virtual Library
Davenport Primary students learned how to use the EHT Elementary Schools' Virtual Library this past week in Mrs. Cavileer's class. Students were able to virtually explore the library and listen to books they had picked. They will be using the EHT Virtual Library for a Book Talk project over the next few weeks, and will have access to this safe space at any time from a computer using the link below.
