Now as we are within the last 12 days of school and testing is almost over, students are in even more need of structure and supervision. Classroom lessons may involve a broader range of curricula and activities, however structure and behavioral expectations must be maintained.

We must also maintain our presence in the hallways during transitions. Teams must continue to supervise the processions to P.E. and lunch for their students every day. During all of these transitions (even between the 7 periods) those who have been issued radios are expected to keep them on and use them whenever an incident may arise.

The radio is the quickest way to get help to you when you need it most. The sooner we respond to an escalated incident, the more likely we are to prevent damage or harm.

Behavior Tip of the Week:

Have students who are acting tired or listless? Maybe apathetic, unmotivated, or not interested in school? As we near the conclusion of this school year, consider using at least 1 of the 28 suggested strategies from PRIM Strategy 158.

Did you know??? Simply letting the students experience success in their verbal answers to questions can instantly boost their confidence! Remember talking respectfully and being positive goes a long way with students who are ready for school to be out and are ready for a break from school.

We know this time of year is stressful. You are doing a great job! Hang in there!

SPED

The FINAL ROUND of SPED Progress Reports are due Wednesday 5/18/16 by 4pm. Thank you for being timely.

Any SPED paperwork you have in the form of a paper copy should be shredded by you by the end of the school year.

Your CSISD CLOUD Paperwork will delete on the last day of school.

We have under 20 ARDS remaining. Thanks for showing up on time and responding to your ARD invitations. Please continue to communicate student needs to Case Managers.

Bus Duty

The DUCKS are the team required to send two teachers (with their team's radio) to the bus loop each day at 4:00.

Duty Assignments

All duty assignments have been updated and posted in the Admin Folder within the OWTIF. Be sure to know your duty station and to be on time at 7:45! Click here for the AM/PM Duty Roster and here for the Lunch Duty Roster.

Counselor's Corner

We survived! Thank you so much for your help this week! Let the summer count down begin!

On Monday we will celebrate our kids working hard during SSI STAAR time. During 2nd and a little of 3rd period, we will have kids in the lecture hall celebrating. I will have Life Skill aids deliver hall passes (pink) to the students on Monday during 1st period. The students will report to the Lecture hall at the beginning of 2nd period. I will get with Mary Davis regarding attendance. I know she will love me!

Thanks for your diligence in submitting your recommendations for Advanced Placement for the 2016-2017 School Year. Please make sure that any students recommended for Advanced 6th classes have been given to Mrs. Duffield by Monday, May 16, 2016.
