Need some holiday gifts? Help our Miner Girls!
The CMS Minergirls are still raising money for some cheerleaders in need and equipment we were required to purchase this year. Please take a moment to peruse a catalog either in the office workroom or online, or find a Minergirl! If you do it online, use this link:
http://www.mythirtyone.com/37905 click "My Parties" and "Cheerleading Fundraiser" to make sure we get credit for the sale! (Online orders will arrive sooner than paper ones, which will be here around the first week of October. Great for holiday gifts!!! We appreciate you spreading the word, too! Feel free to share the link with friends and family!
We also still have $17 carwash tickets and $20 gift cards for Autobell to sell!
If you have any questions, see Coach Kluttz.
Three Thank Yous
Need to add something to announcements?
Here's the link for the announcement submission. Submitting them here will help Ms. Yandle keep all announcements in one spot and ensure she doesn't miss any important announcements. Thanks!
Various Nuts and Bolts
- Please remember to turn in social dues of 25$ each and 15$ for hourly staff members. All dues go toward flowers, showers, and food for faculty meetings.
- Cabarrus Health Alliance will come in for their 2nd day of TRAIL surveys on Tuesday. ALL CLASSES WILL NEED TO CHANGE AT 3:10pm for Miner Time! (This was rescheduled due to internet issues this past Thursday).
- Please remember that students must have notes and hall passes ANY TIME they leave the classroom, even when being sent to the office.
- Please continue to encourage students to pay their fees, but we will not prohibit students from using chrome books if they do not submit their tech fee. That's not our right at this point. We are not to deny them access for learning.
- Also, if you received any notifications back from parents saying they did not want their child's picture taken for any reason at school, please be sure to get those forms back to Ms. Redmond ASAP.
What happens if you have behavioral concerns about a student?
- Email the grade level guidance counselor with the student's name & concerns.
- 6th Grade: Ms. Pauls
- 7th Grade: Ms. Ligon
- 8th Grade: Ms. Duncan
They will share a Data Form with you to complete & set up a virtual meeting with all of the students teachers.
Last week to be CAUGHT as an INQUIRER!
During the Month of September, any student who exemplifies INQUIRY should receive an Inquiry Baseball/ Trading Card from a staff member. Every staff member will have a total of two Inquiry Cards in your mailboxes in the front office by Tuesday, September 5th. When you give the trading card to an inquirer, please complete the back of the card and have the student pose with the card & take a “selfie”(example attached). You will receive two new Baseball Cards each month!!! The expectation is that you give out BOTH Inquiry Trading Cards & submit “student selfie’s” to Amy.Brewer@cabarrus.k12.nc.us during the month of September!!! We would like to promote this heavy at the beginning of September and get students excited about it! So try if at all possible to give out one of your Inquiry Cards NEXT WEEK!!!
Classroom Walkthroughs
Please keep in mind that classroom walkthroughs are starting. You all received a copy of the walkthrough instrument at our September faculty meeting. The purpose of walkthroughs is to collect data that will be used in PLC meetings on the 1st and 3rd PLC meetings of the month. Your administrator will help facilitate the presentation and analysis of this data to help continuously improve by PLC. There is no user friendly way to automatically share feedback with teachers, so please know that the admin walking through will share any "knock your socks off" feedback with you in a separate manner (such as email, note, etc) and any concerns face to face. We are disappointed there's not an immediate method for feedback as we were originally told, but we are moving forward. It is a district expectation that PLCs analyze their walkthrough data.
