by Veerle Lenferink
let's get started..
I interviewed Roald Dahl, one of the most successful writers in the world. Many people know his books and I asked him some questions.
the author
fighter time In August 1939, as World War II loomed, plans were made to round up the hundreds of Germans in Dar-es-Salaam. Dahl was made a lieutenant in the King's African Rifles, commanding a platoon of Askaris, indigenous troops serving in the colonial army. he has been a pilot too. he was very brave.
after that time, he had five children with an american actress. he had a very good time as a writer. He is 74 years old now.
the book and the interview
In the book, Luke and his grandmother are going to catch the witches. But at a time, Luke was trapped in a room full of witches! the witches found him and turned him into a mouse. But before that, Luke was a boy with short blond hair and he was 10 years old. I asked Roald Dahl what the best part of the book was. He said: 'I think that part when Luke turned into a mouse'.
''Why?'' I asked. 'Because it is very exciting'!! He said. I asked him why everybody have to read this book. He answerd :'Because the book is very nice. It's very exciting and for everybody. It doesn't matter if you are 100 years old, you can still read the book'.
There are many books he wrote after The Witches. like: the BFG, Matilda and The Fantastic Mister Fox. He said: 'you all have to read that books, the're great'!!
