Staff Shout-out!
Next week -- important info
Overview
As we move into the second nine weeks, we're going to need the patience, grace and flexibility that you've done a great job providing. Teachers have until Sunday night to finalize grades for the first nine weeks. Until grades are finalized, Mrs. Johnson is not able to even touch student schedules...which takes us to Monday morning. Then things gets a little more complicated because Skyward won't talk to itsLearning until Wednesday...so, needless to say, there will be a lot going on, and it could get confusing. Please be patient and help us reassure your student that it will all get worked out as quickly as possible. How will that affect core classes & high school credit electives next week?
On Monday and Tuesday, students schedules in Skyward will still reflect their first nine weeks' schedules. However, being a small school, our teachers know the kids well and already know where they are going...even if it's not official yet...so they will make sure everyone gets where they need to be. Then, on Wednesday, Skyward will display the accurate second nine weeks schedules.
What about CESITs?
Students will attend their first nine weeks' CESITs on Monday and Tuesday. Be sure to check out the next section about CESIT sign-up.
My student's schedule is changing. Is there any way to avoid this?
If there was a way to avoid it...we would have found it. Recreating the schedule every nine weeks is new to all of us, but we made every effort to minimize movement. In some cases, it was simply unavoidable. However, luckily, we are blessed with fantastic teachers in every subject and grade level, and whether your student has them 4th period or 7th...in-person or virtual...they are getting the very best.
What if we have questions?
Because Mrs. Johnson is going to be crazy busy with schedules, reach out to me or Mr. Burger, and we'll help you get an answer.
CESIT Sign-Up
In-person Students:
Today, they received their CESIT selection forms, and they will sign up in person on Wednesday. Students will need to rank their choices for each period. In case the form didn't make it all the way home, I've attached it to the bottom of the newsletter.
Virtual Students:
Mr. Burger has created a course in itsLearning specific to virtual CESIT selection which will include a sign-up link that will be available on Wednesday morning at 8:05 a.m. (Please note virtual CESIT selection is not based on the time requests are submitted. It's based on homeroom teacher and will be open until 10:30 a.m.)
Questions?
Contact Mr. Burger, who is in charge of everything related to CESIT sign-up.
