FPS Board of Education Announces New Superintendent
On behalf of the FPS Board of Education, please see this communication that was sent to all families last Wednesday night announcing our new Superintendent, Mrs. Annalee Bennin. Welcome, Mrs. Bennin! Mrs. Bennin will begin her role with the district, effective July 1st.
Cougar Field Day is Coming!
Cougar Field Day will take place on Thursday June 9th this year. Please see this document if you would like more information or if you might be interested in volunteering with us!
5th GRADE FAMILIES - UPCOMING VISIT TO FOREST PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL
We are excited to have the 5th-grade students come to Forest Park Middle School in May for a transition program. During this time, students will hear information about athletics and activities, practice reading a schedule, practice opening a locker, and receive a tour of the building. 5th graders will be at the middle school from about 9:30 am -11 am on Wednesday, May 18th.
5th GRADE ACTIVITY NIGHT FRIDAY, MAY 20TH
5th Grade Activity Night is on Friday, May 20 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at Forest Park Middle School!
Admission is $5, and there will be many fun activities such as basketball, volleyball, arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course, dancing, and more! Concessions will also be sold throughout the night.
We are also looking for parent volunteers to help at this event. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Karisa Stiglitz at karisa.stiglitz@franklin.k12.wi.us.
COMMUNITY SCREENING: “KIDS IN CRISIS”
We invite the community to join us on Tuesday, May 24 for a free screening of the documentary Kids in Crisis: You're Not Alone at the Oak Creek Performing Arts & Education Center. After the screening, stick around for a Q&A with an expert panel including one of the students featured in the documentary. Click the associated image for more details.

COVID-19 UPDATES
- CASES: We continue to ask families to please be diligent in keeping your children home when they are experiencing symptoms or are sick. Please continue to report any symptoms or sickness through the online absence reporting form process.
- TESTING FOR AT SCHOOL STUDENTS & STAFF ONLY: Students and their family members who are at home and need access to testing are recommended to visit a community testing site. For more information, please visit the Summit Clinical Labs website or the DHS Community Testing page here. Students or staff who are present at school and in need of access to testing can be tested in their building through the ongoing partnership between FPS and Summit Clinical Labs. - As shared in this update from the March 11th Newsletter, we will resume publishing dashboard updates if the Milwaukee County rating moves to high.
KIDS CLUB 2022-23 REGISTRATION IS OPEN

KID'S CAMP SUMMER OFFERINGS
The Community Education & Recreation Department will once again be offering Kids Camp this summer for children who have completed 5K through those entering 6th grade. Click here or on the image to view all details. Registration opened on Wednesday, April 13th.
If your child is enrolled in FPS Summer Learning and wants to attend Kids Camp, there is a bus to Ben Franklin for Camp after FPS Summer Learning ends around noon. Kids Camp is also offered on Fridays if you are looking for options for your child since there is no FPS Summer Learning on Fridays.
FHS CULTURE FEST EVENT THIS THURS 5/19
We have not been able to hold an in-person Culture Fest since early March of 2020. We are very proud to share that event is back. This Thursday, May 19th from 5:30-7:30 at Franklin High School. Come experience food, performances, activities and cultural presentations. This would be a great family event to attend! Listed below is a tentative schedule of events:

FRANKLIN HEALTH DEPARTMENT BIKE RODEO!
The City of Franklin Health Department is hosting a “Bike Rodeo” on Saturday, June 4 from 9 am-11:15 am by appointment only (allow one hour). Participants will receive a free helmet, a free bike safety check, a certificate of completion, a free bike license (Franklin residents only) and get to ride through an obstacle course! Online registration for this event opened Monday, April 25th. Make sure you have a Franklin Community & Education Recreation Department account created for recreation programming signups. REC YOUTH BASEBALL OFFERINGS
It’s that time of the year to play baseball with the Franklin Recreation Department! Come and join us for our summer T-Ball (ages 4-5) and Coach Pitch (ages 6-8) leagues. These are great programs which teach the basics of baseball/softball within a fun, laid back environment. The deadline to register is Tuesday, May 17th so sign up today to secure a spot!
22-23 SPANISH OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS
The Community Education & Recreation Department is again partnering with Futura Adventures to offer Spanish course opportunities this fall. Currently, “Early Bird Registration” is going on if you’d like to take advantage and sign your child up before June 1st.

SUMMER YOUTH MUSICAL - FROZEN JR AUDITIONS
Forte Theatre Company is holding auditions for their summer youth musical production, Frozen Jr! Based on the 2018 Broadway musical, this enchanting show will bring Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life on the Saber Center stage!
Auditions: May 24th & 25th, 4-6 pm (please sign up for one 15 min time slot)
Audition location: FHS Choir Room
Ages: 10-18
Callbacks: Thursday, May 26th, 4-8 pm
Rehearsals: June 28th thru July 28th
Performances: August 5th - 7th at the FHS Saber Center

COUNTRY DALE LOST AND FOUND
Parent, please label your child's belongings so when items are misplaced we can return the items directly to the student. If you are missing items please click on the Lost and Found link and review the items currently here. If you see an item that is your child's, ask your child to come to the NEW Lost and Found area. We have relocated the Lost and Found to the short hallway by room 6.
ATTENDANCE REMINDER
Early Dismissal, Appointments and Changes to Regular Dismissal Schedule
Students may be excused during school hours for medical and dental appointments. Any early dismissal or late arrivals should be submitted using THIS FORM. Only emergency situations should be handled over the telephone. Thank you.

- The PTO is having a Crossroads Pizza fundraiser night on Friday, May 20th from 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM. Order some pizza and support our school!

SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS FOR 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR
Country Dale Families,
The 1st Day School Supplies link is open and ready to use. The teachers have submitted their lists for next year and you can purchase for your child today. Please make sure you select the grade your child is going into in the fall.
We are using this as a fundraiser, so a small portion of every box purchased helps to raise money for the school. The boxes will be delivered directly to your homes. The deadline to purchase is July 1st.
