Mission Statement

The mission of J. Sterling Morton Elementary School, whose culture unites families, guarantees all students develop the academic skills and character traits necessary for personal excellence and responsible citizenship through high-quality, innovative, engaging experiences in a challenging and nurturing environment.

Dear Morton Families,


It has been a fantastic first week back at school! The students are settling into new routines and procedures. They have experienced so much joy connecting with their fellow classmates. Teachers have establish relationships with their students and have jumped right into delivering dynamic and engaging instructional practices.

Breakfast - 8:05 a.m. (optional)

Doors Open - 8:20 a.m.

School Begins - 8:30 a.m.

School Ends - 3:45 p.m.

Wednesday Schedule - School Ends - 2:15 p.m.

Traffic Reminders

Please review the traffic patterns utilizing the image below.



  • Student ID Cards have been distributed to families to ensure safe and efficient student pick up procedures. Please contact your teacher if you have not received one.
  • If you are picking up a child, please do not get out of your vehicle. Staff members are available to assist in delivering students safely to vehicles.
  • Please proceed through crosswalk zones with caution. Safety Patrol members will be utilized to assist with crosswalk.
  • Students are dismissed from class at 3:45 p.m. On average, the student pick up process lasts 12 minutes from start to finish. We appreciate your continued patience with this process.
