Enjoy Spring Break!

A Year Later

We've all experienced quite a bit in the last year. At Lakeview, when the pandemic started, we vowed to make sure we maintained the strong relationships we had with students and families. I am proud of the relationships that Lakeview educators have with all of you, and I hope you feel the same. That certainly has not been easy, and at times, it was downright difficult. But crisis is a magnifying glass - it magnifies the good (or the not so good) that already exists in a system or a family. At Lakeview, I think we had so much "good" in place prior to the pandemic and the crisis of the last year magnified all that "good". Our students have become kinder than ever and more resilient than ever, and we see that every day. That didn't happen by accident. It happened because all of us - educators, families, and students - worked together throughout all of it. Thank you!

Online Trivia Night for Lakeview!

Mark your calendars! The PTO will host an online trivia night on Thursday, April 22nd from 6:30-7:15 p.m. We will use Kahoot to have a fun, family-friendly trivia night. Our teachers will send home Chromebooks that day so everyone can join us. There will be prizes! Stay tuned for more information!

Yearbook Orders - Last Chance

Families can use this link to order yearbooks online. It can be used for any Lakeview students - virtual or in-person. Orders close on April 5. Often, families think the school orders or gets extra for families purchase without pre-ordering. We really do not. Here is the link to order now:

Calendar - Know Your April & May Dates

For in-person families only:

Here is the link to the district calendar- please print it and/or add the dates to your online calendar at home. We do not send home reminders emails or phone calls about these days. We count on all of our families to know this. However, we do remind families in this weekly newsletter.

Spring break (no school) is March 27-April 5 for all students.

School resumes for all students on Tuesday, April 6.

Noon dismissal in April is on April 14, 21, and 28.

Noon dismissal in May is on May 5, 12, and 26.

No school on May 21 or 31

Last day of school is June 10 (noon dismissal)

4K Registration is Open

4K registration for the 2021-2022 school year is now open. Please read this information and follow the instructions for registration. Existing families received an email on February 26 with this same information - you will log into your Infinite Campus portal and add a new student to your family. If you have any question, contact the office at Lakeview. Please forward this information to anyone you know that might be interested in 4K for next school year. We can't wait to meet the class of 2035!

Forward Exam - Grades 3-5

All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be involved in Forward Testing in April. The Forward Exam is the statewide test in Wisconsin. Although it did not happen in 2020 due to the pandemic, it is happening this year again. SMVA 3rd-5th grade students should watch for instructions from SMVA staff. In-person 3rd-5th grade students at Lakeview will have Forward Testing during the week of April 12. Since we need to account for every 3rd-5th grade student with this test, it is important that in-person students are present during the week of April 12. Please avoid vacations, doctor/dentist appointments, etc. during that week. Students that miss test sessions will need to make up the test on another date, which means they miss other instruction.
