Message from Jeff and Yolanda
LWTHS was recognized as being the top Title 1 Non-Charter school in the state of Florida based on the school grading accountability. This month the Florida Trends publication highlighted LWTHS as well as other high performing schools. The article noted that the top performing schools tend to be non-traditional or special schools who have a special focus such as career dual-enrollment. Our school's success is based on the ability for LWTHS students to enroll in career dual-enrollment programs at Lorenzo Walker Technical College as juniors and seniors. Based on our student survey last year, 89% of our current high school students chose to apply to LWTHS because of the technical college experience.
Florida Trend is a monthly magazine founded in 1958, covering Florida business, industry, education, and leisure.
