Founders Weekly
March 25th to 29th
Shout out!
So many great things happened last week! I want to recognize a few:
- Chef Park and Mr. Soares for stepping up for Humanities
- Mr. Mahmud for great participation in PD!
- Mr. Brinker for attending all the events we have!
RICAS
RICAS dates and schedule are available on the Hub. We will complete testing before we leave for break. The RICAS Resource Center has released items and practice tests. I will come to Grade Level Meetings and be after school Tuesday and Wednesday for anyone with any questions and concerns about administering and proctoring tests. Make sure your login works this week. Please look at the information about RICAS posted on the Founders Hub.
Grodon Center Trainings
Please make time to join us for the Grodon Center training series. The 4 1.5 hour presentations are being specifically designed to support us in creating toolboxes to better understand and manage the needs of our current population. This is meant to empower our faculty and staff and decrease the amount of stress on all of us. All sessions are from 2:45 to 4:15. The dates are: 3/26, 4/1, 5/1, 5/15.
Surveyworks!
Please make sure you complete the Surveyworks survey by today! Thank you to all who completed already!
Career Interest Survey
Please ask kids to complete the Career Interest Survey in the Student Information Center in Advisory if they haven't already.
4th floor
There seem to be a lot of kids out of class on the couch or in the hallway by Ms. Hill's office. If you have allowed kids to work out of class, please be sure they have a pass that says where they should be and keep an eye out. Call the office if you notice kids out of area up there during lunches. They do not have permission to eat up there unless a teacher has given them a pass and is supervising them.
Locked doors
Please make sure the following doors are closed and locked if you are passing by and see them open: 8th grade locker room, chromebook room, sensory room. Feel free to refer kids to the office if they are asking for access and you don't have time to wait with them.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences are Thursday, April 11th 4 to 6:30. Feedback from parents from the first session was that daytime did not work for them and that 5 minutes to meet with the whole team was insufficient. In addition, it was challenging to supervise the school with only a few staff to free everyone up to meet during the day. We are going to try offering slots by individual teachers rather than teams. If there is a larger concern behavior or academic please schedule a team meeting with the parent that offers sufficient time to cover it.
Pineapple Chart
I am challenging all staff to participate in the Pinapple Chart as both a host and observer (those without classes are encouraged to observe classrooms they don't normally see!) from now until April break. Please sign up as a host before that date!
