10/6 Maker Monday: What can you do with a 3.5 inch floppy disk?
Back in the day before flash drives and sd cards, there was the 3.5 in floppy disk. At the Maker Monday on 10/6 at 3pm, we will tinker with these relics--take them apart, look at what makes them tick, and invent new uses for them. A prize will be awarded for the best new use invention!
*UPDATE: Due to popular demand, we will extend this Maker Monday all week, making supplies available in the MakerSpace for anyone who wants to tinker. Entries for best new use invention should be brought to the library by Friday at 3 pm for judging and to get their picture taken.

4/13 Maker Monday: T-Shirt Transformations (All Week Long!)
At this week's Maker Monday, come learn cool ways to customize a tshirt, just in time for the warm weather! Using the Silhouette Cameo digital cutting tool (thanks MHS PTO for buying us one!) you can transfer your text and/or design to freezer paper, which makes a cheap and effective stencil. This stencil can be ironed on to a tshirt, and then you can use fabric paint or bleach to create your custom look.
We'll provide the cutting tool, the freezer paper, the paint, the bleach, and the know-how. You provide the tshirt and the ideas. We'll be working on this project all week, so if you don't have a tshirt for Monday, come on in and start your stencil anyway!
