Mrs. Inman's Happenings

September 25-29

Reading

Phonics skills for the week: /sh/, /th/, /ch/, /tch/, and /or/

Students will continue to practice good reader habits and challenge themselves daily. Our reader's workshop time is going very well. Students are self- selecting books, reading independently and having some time to practice reading with a partner. While the students are working, I conference one on one with students. We celebrate with the student what is going well and then give them a targeted strategy to improve their reading.

In writing, the students will continue to write small moment stories.

Math

This week we will begin transitioning to teach subtraction. Our math program does a nice job of helping the students see how addition and subtraction are related.

Social Studies/Science

We will conclude our unit on light.
