Dear Cherry Creek Academy Families,

In order to ensure Cherry Creek Academy has an accurate count for the next school year (2023/2024), we ask that you please take the time to complete BOTH 2023/2024 Intent to Return Form and 2023/2024 Student Enrollment Form. Please note that if you indicate a child is not returning, this acts as a withdrawal form with an effective date of the last day of school. Please direct any questions or concerns to Admissions at admissions@cherrycreekacademy.org. The deadline for re-enrollment is March 31, 2023.

The 2023 CCA Board Election will begin on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 and will end on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

There are three open positions on the Board for the 2023 Election. The term for each Board position is three years.

We have streamlined our submittal process and we are utilizing the Google Forms platform.

This form is due by April 11, 2023 at 3:00 pm.

In order to better understand the roles and responsibilities of Board candidates please review the Candidate Eligibility Requirements listed below:

• Potential candidates must attend a minimum of two (2) regular CCA Board meetings during the nine (9) months prior to the April Board meeting. The March Board meeting is an eligible meeting for this requirement.

• Potential candidates must interview with at least one (1) current Board member prior to the nomination form submittal deadline.

• Potential candidates must agree to complete all required “Board modules” if elected. They must also agree to abide by the Code of Conduct, Duty of Care and Loyalty and Conflict of Interests policies.

• Potential candidates must agree to abide by the CCA “Non-Negotiables.”

• CCA staff members and spouses of CCA staff members are not allowed to run for the CCA Board.

• Only one parent or legal guardian per family may serve on the CCA Board at the same time.

• In order to be eligible to run for the CCA Board, candidates must have at least one student who is returning to CCA for the upcoming school year.

• In order to be eligible to run for the CCA Board, candidates must have completed and have documented (under their own unique volunteer account through the current CCA volunteer hours’ database) at least 50% of their annual volunteer hours (20 of 40 hours per family, or 10 of 20 hours per single parent) by the time of nomination.

The Election will be held by an electronic ballot. A unique and confidential electronic ballot will be sent to the email address listed in PowerSchool for each parent/guardian.

A huge congratulations to Eashan T. who placed 29th in the State Chapter of the MathCounts competition. There were 150 students from Colorado and Eashan T. placed in the top 30 which is a huge accomplishment. Congratulations Eashan!

Back by popular demand! Earn volunteer hours by providing snacks to the CCA staff every Monday. Store bought items equal one volunteer hour, and homemade items count as 2 volunteer hours. Sign up one week before you will bring snacks. We love taking care of our teachers and staff!

Cherry Creek Academy extracurriculars have definitely grown. We now have 24 different activities and athletics to offer our students this year. From band to soccer, basketball to Student Council, we have a little bit of everything, for everyone. We are constantly shifting, adding new things, and changing with the times. Keep an eye out CCA, more great things for your children to do coming Fall 2023!

For their research, it would be great to tap into expertise within our own community. If you work in the field of a student's topic, or have knowledge of it, would you consider corresponding with a student about it via email? If so, please email Mr. Geltman at sgeltman@cherrycreekacademy.org, and Mr. Geltman will coordinate things.

Parents, each year we put together a slideshow video of our 8th graders and show it at graduation. We are asking that you please fill out this form in order to submit a baby/young child photo of your 8th grader and a current photo of them to be shared at graduation. Each year, the Cherry Creek Academy Foundation awards a one-time academic scholarship of $1,000 to a high school senior who attended CCA. If you know a graduating senior who is interested in applying for the 2023 scholarship award to support future studies, please encourage them to make sure their current email address is on file in PowerSchool at My.cherrycreekschools.org. CCA alumni graduating in 2023 should expect to receive instructions via email by March 17 on how to apply for the CCA Foundation scholarship. Seniors no longer in the Cherry Creek District remain eligible and may email their contact information to scholarshipcommittee@cherrycreekacademy.org

We formally invite all K-4 students and families to join Cherry Creek Academy for our annual Masquerade Dance. We will be dancing away the night with a local DJ, creating crafts, and enjoying the night with our friends. We will have food and concessions open for purchases each item will range from $.50 - $1.00 all proceeds will benefit the PTO. Please let us know how many from your family will be attending.
