feast of st. joseph
I can be more like St. Joseph by being calm, caring, thoughtful and listen to God. He was the foster father of Jesus Christ. He was also the protector of Mary. And what is funny is we both have something in common: we like to create things out of wood! I can also be like him by reading the Bible. He also wants us to do good deeds.
- Blaise, Gr. 3
St. Joseph is our well known patron saint. He is a calm and caring guy. He loved his family, and I can imagine what a life Jesus had. I can be more like him by doing things that are holy.
- Julianna, Gr. 3
I can be like St. Joseph by being obedient and listening to God. St. Joseph inspires me because he protected his wife, The Virgin Mary, on their trip to Bethlehem. St. Joseph is a very good inspiration for me and others.
- Issa, Gr. 3
St. Joseph is a good patron saint for our school because of his lovingness. Even though he is just as human as we are, he knew the importance of forgiveness and understanding. I always remember how he handled the situation of finding out that Mary was pregnant shortly after their marriage. Instead of making a big deal and ruining the reputation of Mary, he "quietly divorced her". He was humble enough to not rage in anger, but think of what would happen to Mary as well. That is something everyone can take from St. Joseph- his consideration for others, his humbleness, his forgiveness, and his love for others even in difficult situations. These are all things people need to learn and understand and that is what our school teaches us- how to obtain these qualities and try our best to use them. St. Joseph shows us that it is possible to be human and live a life of kindness and love. I love that our school roots itself in those values.
- Tessa, Grade 8
St. Joseph, the husband of Mary and foster-father of Jesus Christ, is a good patron saint for our school because he is an amazing role model. When he was presented with a child that wasn’t his he raised it as his own. St. Joseph was accepting and loving with Jesus. Joseph taught Jesus his trade, how to be a carpenter. He also taught him how to be the Man of the house. He taught Jesus many life lessons and was there for him when Jesus needed him. He was an amazing father and helped whenever he had the chance. Another reason that St. Joseph is a good patron saint of our school is, he was always loving and kind. Whenever someone needed help he was there to help them. I wouldn’t like any other saint to be the patron saint of my school.

Gospel Reading This Sunday
Gospel for Sunday, March 21:
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
Jesus answered them, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Those who love their life lose it, and those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honor."
The Gospel of the Lord.
