Quote
"Whenever you feel like criticizing any one," he told me, "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had.” (pg 1)
This quote is the reason why quote is so important is because this is what helps Nick with decisions on how to treat people. This is going back to the "treat others the way want to be treated" law that we all learned in grade school. It saying that don't judge others because they don't share the same experiences that you have. He doesn't question anyones motives, he doesn't question their past, he just keeps his mouth shut.
