OLVCS Updates

Proverbs 3:5. Did you Google it?
If not, then let me do it for you:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight."
What a great verse to think about, as we continue activities at Our Lady of Victory Catholic School! It is a great reminder that God is in control, even in times like these when the future feels uncertain and challenging.
This week I would like to take a moment to highlight and specifically thank our school's office/administrative staff. Mrs. Cawley, Mrs. Kolarik, Mrs. Weber, Mr. Stec, and Mrs. Straub along with Miss Patty and Dave are working constantly behind the scenes. From answering parent questions, arranging for athletic events, maintaining our school's internet presence, filling out innumerable forms, creating and setting up the pick-up route to cleaning up spills, these staff members are a valuable part of the OLVCS family. Our school is blessed each day by their dedication, thoughtfulness, and attention to details. Please join me in telling them thank you!
Taking on the heart of Jesus,
Chad Packer, MEd
Principal, OLVCS

Want to Make Your Elementary Student's Day? Be a Lunch Room or Recess Volunteer!
Volunteers are needed from 11:30 AM-12:40 PM. Lunch room volunteers chat with the students, wipe down tables, and help younger students open packaging. Recess volunteers help monitor children at recess and vicariously learn the rules to wall ball and other recess games. No experience necessary! Your help enables our teachers to have a much needed break. Use the button below to sign up.
Reminder: Completion of the Youth Protections program and clearances required to volunteer. See announcement below about how to complete these.

Ambassadors Share Info About Saint Joe's
Saint Joseph's Ambassadors had the opportunity to meet up with OLVCS middle school students this past week. In addition offering their perspectives of what Saint Joe's is like as a student and how to prepare for the next level of education as a part of the WolfPack, the Ambassadors played a Saint Joe's trivia game with the students. The photo shows Saint Joe's seniors, Noah Straub and Leland Calistri (both OLVCS grads), speaking with their assigned small group of OLVCS students.

Catholic Schools Week Service Project
The Catholic Schools Week theme this year is "Experience the warmth and love of Jesus Christ in Catholic Schools of Centre County." On that note, OLV Preschool would like to spread warmth to celebrate!
From now through the end of Catholic Schools Week OLV Preschool classes will be reading The Mitten Tree by Candace Christianson and collecting new mittens (all sizes welcome) to donate to Centre Safe and to Saint Vincent DePaul. Mittens can be sent in to the school and will be used to create classroom mitten trees. Contact Dr. Lorenz, OLV Preschool Director, at lorenzd@olvcs.org for more information.
