Pilgrims on the Way of Truth

This was a whirlwind week for everyone! The IDEA Pitch Night was a huge success and we can't wait to see what happens next with that program! The Choral and Band concerts mid-week were just breath-taking and very emotional as Mr. Rome conducted our students one final time. Having Mr. Rome cap off a brilliant career with a moving Star Trek medley was absolutely one of the highlights of the year. If you are able to - check out the short video snippet on the Marian Central Twitter page! Last night, we honored our Fine Arts students with a wonderful awards ceremony. Today - we celebrated our Seniors in our Honors Day ceremony, and tonight we are hosting an exciting soccer game!

In comparison - next week has a little breathing room! Well, perhaps not with all the studying that will be taking place (and grading for our wonderful teachers!) We do hope that our new Senior Exam Exemption program was something that benefited many of our seniors - and gave them a chance to rest and enjoy this moment in their lives! For our Senior Families - here's the link to the "End of Year Events" letter that we emailed out a few weeks ago, just in case you need a quick digital version to refer to!

Finally, we invite you all to come join us for two very special events: First - tomorrow, from 2pm - 5pm, we are celebrating Mr. Tom Rome's wonderful career here at Marian Central. We needed to add this event simply because several generations of alumni wanted to come wish him well, but had to travel a bit to be here! Second - Monday evening from 5pm - 7pm - Please join us in the cafeteria to celebrate Mr. Tom Rome, Mrs. Rebecca Reed, and Mr. Jim Behymer as they begin their well-earned retirements!

As we wind up this school year, we have so many emotions - just as you do. Mostly, we approach the end with a profound sense of gratitude for our students, parents, faculty, and staff. As with every year, we have faced challenges and triumphs together as a school community and we give thanks to God for every gift along the way.

God bless you and your families as we enter into this final week of school. Have a wonderful weekend!

Book Buy-Back Program - FINAL YEAR!

Book buyback will be May 22, 23 & 24 at the beginning of each exam period – do not wait until the end of the day to turn your books in.

Marian Central does not buy back any paperback books.

To sell your books back, SENIORS must have an envelope (the school does not provide the envelopes) with your name on it placed inside the front cover of each book. FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES, and JUNIORS must have a 3 x 5 form (teachers will have the forms) with their name on it placed inside the front cover of each book (if you don’t put a form with your name you WILL NOT get credit for the book). Take your books with you to each class. The books will be collected and 2 or 3 students will bring them to the auditorium before exams are started – not at the end of the period. DO NOT BRING THE BOOKS TO THE OFFICE.

The cash will be returned to SENIORS with their diplomas after graduation unless they have a younger sibling. FRESHMAN, SOPHOMORE, and JUNIOR book money will be applied as a tuition credit for the 2018-2019 school year.

Linked here, please find the 2018-2019 Book Buy Back List (a hard-copy was mailed to all families recently!)

Calling for Donations of BAKED ITEMS for Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation!

The Parents' Association is looking for donations of baked goods for the Baccalaureate Mass and graduation ceremony! Please drop them off at school the morning of the Baccalaureate Mass (May 24th).

If interested in contributing baked goods, please contact Mrs. Lori Lee (cell/email below) so we can coordinate what items we will be able to offer (and know what goodies we still need to purchase to make it a wonderful celebration for our Senior families!)

Thank you for your support this year!

Lori Lee

Used Book Sale Event - May 31st!

Any books purchased back through our Book Buy Back program will be organized for a Used Book Sale Event on Thursday, May 31st from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm in the school cafeteria.

The 18-19 Book List was mailed with the Book Buy-Back list to all families, but please note that we have made TWO additions to the list since that mailing: the first involves Accounting 2, the second is the added Micro-economics class.

Not everything listed on this book list will be available at the Used Book Sale. Our 2018-2019 Online Bookstore (managed by MBS Direct) will be open on July 2, 2018 and we will run special offers (free shipping, etc.) shortly after that! The ADVANTAGE to ordering through MBS is two-fold: first, the company offers guaranteed buy-back and second, a % of all sales through MBS is DONATED BACK TO MARIAN which is then added to our tuition assistance program!

2018-2019 Book List

You'll notice that we've added a note if an eBook version is available. As we transition to our 1:1 program, we feel it's important to offer as many opportunities to utilize digital books as possible. It is entirely your student's preference! You will notice, however, that there can be a significant cost savings with the eBook version - so we hope that this gives our families more choice! Our instructors welcome a blend of print and eBook - and these eBooks will work on multiple platforms!

We will have this Book List copied and available to you at the Used Book Sale! Just remember to bring your student's course list with you so you know which classes to shop for!

Used Uniform Endowment Event - May 31st!

In addition to the Used Book Sale - we are hosting a Used Uniform Endowment Event on the same night! Thanks to generous donations of gently used uniforms, we are blessed to be able to offer our families a chance to stock up on used uniforms AT NO CHARGE! Our NHS students will be set up in Landers Pavilion from 5:00 - 6:30pm on Thursday, May 31st and we will have pants, polos, sweaters, and even some spirit items available!

If you wish to exchange sizes or donate (without exchange), we can certainly help you with that as well! Please bring your outgrown items (washed, folded) and we will be happy to add them to the offerings for other families! We just ask that no items be ripped or stained.
