Meet Our New Andrews Secretary- Mrs. Andrea Kieser!
I have been working as a Teaching Assistant in PISD for the past nine years, and I am super excited to be at Andrews as the Secretary! This is my neighborhood school and it means so much to me.
I am originally from Canada, but have been living in Plano for twenty-five years. I have three grown daughters, who all went to Andrews, and I have been married to “the boy next door” for twenty-seven years. We have two crazy dogs named Ace and Ozzy.
In my spare time, I enjoy working out, going to the movies, playing games on my iPad and travelling. I especially love it when our children come home to visit.
Andrews Staff Boast Board!
As we approach the season of giving thanks, we'd like to spread some cheer to the staff members at Andrews. Have you experienced something outstanding this year? Has one of the staff members gone above and beyond? Do you have a kind sentiment to share about an Andrews staff member?
Click HERE to submit a message of gratitude to be featured on our staff bulletin board.
History Fair Information (3rd-5th Grade)
It is time once again to prepare for the Elementary Campus History Fair. Though participation in this annual event is voluntary, we want to encourage interested students (in Grades 3-5) to take advantage of this opportunity to exhibit their knowledge and understanding of history. This year’s theme is “Debate & Diplomacy in History: Successes, Failures, Consequences."
If your child is interested in participating, please complete and submit the Student Interest Form. Your child will then be added to the Andrews History Fair Google Classroom. The History Fair Student Handbook and additional updates will be posted there. The handbook has specific information about rules governing the judging of projects. Please be aware that all decisions of the History Fair judges are final. Also, submitting the interest form does not mean your child is committed to entering the History Fair.
All presentations must be submitted no later than 7:40a.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Contest winners will be announced on Thursday, December 9th. The Andrews History Fair Open House will take place 3:00-4:00p.m. on Thursday, December 9th in the Andrews Library.
If you have any questions, please contact the History Fair Coordinator at Lauren.Handler@pisd.edu

The Lion’s Club offers PISD students, who cannot afford an eye exam or glasses, two mobile eye clinics each year. The Lion’s Club also collects usable prescription glasses, and sends them to areas of need around the globe, to help others.
Please considering donating the following:
Usable prescription glasses
Usable prescription sunglasses
Reader glasses of any strength
There will be a collection box in the front office. Thank you, for helping us say THANK YOU, to the Lion’s Club for all they do to help our students!

Plano ISD Hosting First-Ever Family Code Night for K-5 Students and Families
Plano ISD is hosting the district’s first-ever Family Code Night taking place virtually on Wednesday, December 8, from 5:00-6:15 p.m. Registration is required via this form. Families who need Spanish translation should indicate so on the registration form.
Superintendent Sara Bonser will kick off the event, which will be followed by a coding lesson provided by the Family Code Night team. The event will introduce families and their students to coding and computer science using fun puzzles and special tips.
For the evening, participants will need a charged Chromebook, laptop or PC, and Internet access. Families who need assistance obtaining Internet access should contact their school’s campus technology assistant.
The goal of this event and the Plano ISD PK-12 Computer Science Program is to provide opportunities for students to learn to code in every grade level. Families can learn more about opportunities offered in the district at www.pisd.edu/computerscience. District science coordinators are currently writing a curriculum for K-5 elementary computer science that will allow students to engage with coding learning opportunities during the school day.
