Northern Region Teacher Shout Out
NR Teacher of the Week ... Karen Noyes
OHVA Math teacher, Karen Noyes, had 2 students on the mic within the first 45 seconds of class. She lets her students do the heavy lifting by asking them questions throughout the entire lesson. Keep in mind there are over 100 students in this session! This is inspiring!

Testing? That Doesn't Stop Doug Iverson from Teaching!
Doug Iverson, Science Teacher at Wisconsin Virtual Academy, put together a PDF lesson (see the NRTT for details) while he was out testing. It is well-organized, speaks directly to the student, and well-worth the students' time.
Literacy Strategies for the Science Classroom
Did you see Wanda Penamon's Promising Practices poster? Wanda is a Science teacher at OHVA, and she has great strategies for incorporating literacy into Science. Be sure to check out the NRTT for details.
Mickey Mouse in the House at WIVA
J. Johnson shows her students multiple strategies to work with integers. My favorite method demonstrated was the MICKEY MOUSE METHOD. MMM so good! Watch this video and you will see more fun methods including KISSY FACE! Her lesson can be found in the NRTT this week!
