~Westmoor Update~
Week of December 5th
Principal's Message
Dear Westmoor Families,
Fall final exams are right around the corner: Wednesday, December 21, Thursday, December 22 and Friday, December 23. The next two weeks, our teachers will be doing final exam reviews in their classrooms. Attendance becomes critical at this point. We want to finish strong before the Christmas break. Families, please schedule appointments for your child after school and allow your child to be present in classrooms during this critical time. Students getting a good night's rest and eating a balanced meal helps in this preparation. Setting alarms twenty minutes earlier allows plenty of time so students arrive at school on time, don't rush in the morning and miss critical information presented by the teachers.
The Winter Concert is scheduled for December 16 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM in our new theater. Our holiday concert will be led by our outstanding band director, Stephanie Stewart. Please review the school website for more information and tickets.

COVID-19 is still active in our community. We encourage our students and staff to take COVID tests on a regular basis, especially when not feeling well. If you need a COVID test, please ask your site's office or site COVID lead for one.
If a COVID test yields a positive result, staff are asked to fill out this form, stay home, and report this absence to their site supervisor and COVID lead. For additional COVID-related information, please visit the District’s COVID Response Page.

Are you a teen with a desire to go to bed earlier, or the parent of a teen?
We are conducting a study to determine whether a novel behavioral and light intervention can help you go to bed earlier. Your active participation will last 10 weeks. During the first part of the study, you will receive information about sleep in either a short series of videos or over Zoom. You’ll also be given a special light that you will keep in your room that will help you get to sleep earlier. The light works automatically while you are sleeping and will be used throughout the study. Participation is completely voluntary, and you will be compensated ($300) for your time. If you are interested in participating, you can click here to determine your eligibility or visit our website for more information.
If you have any questions, you can contact the Research Coordinator at denizkes@stanford.edu or 628-276-2436. For complaints, concerns, or participant's rights, contact 1-866-680-2906.
