ALL SCHOOL NEWS
National Teacher Appreciation Week
National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6th – 10th. Our teachers work so hard for our children every day, and this week is our chance to show them how much we appreciate them and say, “THANK YOU.” We would love for you to join in any, or all, of our Teacher Appreciation Week events as a way of showing our thanks to the teachers who work hard to positively impact our children.
Here are some simple ways/ideas to say thank you:
Monday: Give (Post-it notes, pens, note pads, etc.) that every teacher loves.
Tuesday: Write a note, a thank you card, or draw a picture to give your teacher first thing in the morning – start their day off right!
Wednesday: Bring in a soda or coffee to put on your teachers’ desk first thing in the morning.
Thursday: Bring in some sweet treats to give your teachers.
Friday: Little gifts or $5-10 gift cards would be perfect.
Field House Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening
Middle and High School Final Exams
As the year winds down, don't forget to be preparing for exams. They will be given during the week of May 20th-24th. You can find the schedule on Renweb under Resource Documents, or pick up a copy in the office.
SUPPLIES: Students must be on time and prepared for finals. Please bring extra writing utensils, paper, and your text book (if it needs to be returned) to each class. You will not be allowed to leave the classroom if you finish early, so please bring study materials or a book to read.
ATTENDANCE: Students should only be present for exam times. This will help the teachers prepare and grade exams, and will give the students more time to study at home. For those who need to be at school all day, independent, silent study periods are available each period. Students should come with books to read or study if they need to stay for these periods.
EXEMPTIONS: Students who receive a 95 or higher in any class OR have no more than two absences in that class are eligible for exemption from the Midterm or Final Exam for that class with the following guidelines:
Student must be passing all classes, academic and elective.
Each student may exempt no more than two exams per semester based on grade, and one exam based on attendance.
Students may only exempt one exam per course (Midterm or Final, not both). (This does not apply to seniors during 2nd semester)
Also, students may not exempt exams if there is a balance on their account.
To exempt exams, students must complete the GRADE LEVEL Specific EXAM EXEMPTION FORM by the end of the day May 17 to request exemption. Approval or denial notification will be sent after 3:00 on Friday May 18. ALL Students (EXCEPT SENIORS THAT DO NOT NEED TO TAKE EXAMS) must attend and participate in review day, even if they plan to exempt the exam.
Please Note:
I recommend that you complete this form ahead of time, however if you are waiting for last minute grades to make your decision, please understand that any forms time-stamped after 5/17 will NOT be considered.
If you have technical difficulties with the form, please contact me by email by the end of the day 5/17.
Happy studying!
