We have had 100% attendance for the past two days!!! That is the first time to be at 100% all year! Thank you so much for ensuring that your children are here at school learning! The students worked very hard on the STAAR test! We are proud of all! Thank you for encouraging them at home to work hard and do their best! We have one test left next week. The fifth grade students will take the science test. Best to luck to all and please make sure they are at school on time.

Books must be turned into the library to participate in our upcoming Water Day and 5th grade field trip! If you can not find the books, money is due by Tuesday, May 24th! The kids are doing great and have made huge improvements. Our spelling test will be on Friday, along with a math facts test. We will leave for our field trip at 1:00 on Friday. We are reviewing and wrapping things up for the end of the year. Thank you to all of the parents for all of the help throughout the year.

We are finished with our math STAAR test! I am so proud of how far our students have progressed this year!

In math I will be introducing skills students will be learning in 4th grade.

In science we are learning about life cycles of animals and plants.

ELAR/Social Studies

• We are finished STAAR testing for the year! I'm so proud at how hard our kids have worked!
• This coming week we are starting some projects. One we will be doing research over our favorite animal. We will also be studying fractured fairytales the last couple of weeks of school.
• In Social Studies we have two virtual field trips we will be doing. One about the Holi Festival from India and Africa: beaded masks and traditions from the Texas Tech Cultural Center.
• Please make sure you have returned the permission slips for the research Texas Tech is conducting. I will also be sending a reminder on Dojo. Thanks for your help!

4th Grade STAAR is over for this year and so is my time in 4th grade. I have had a great time being back at Meadow helping prepare the students for STAAR, but it is now time for Mrs. Wesley to return. I know the students are excited to have their teacher back to finish out the year.

As always, please keep your child READING, READING, READING to help them stay on track for 5th grade next year. I hope everyone has a wonderful summer!

We are sooooo close to the end of the year!!!! The kids are definitely ready to be done. They have learned so much and I have absolutely loved having them this year. It's been a fun ride!

4th Grade Math---STAAR is in the books! We will continue reviewing things they've learned this year by doing fun activities to keep them excited about Math for next year.

4th Grade Science--We are planning a fun activity for science as well. The students will be able to share their knowledge of one of our topics with younger students.

5th Grade Science---We have our STAAR on Tuesday. Please remind your child the importance of concentration and taking their time. Please encourage them to get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast Tuesday morning before the test. Please remind them to use their strategies and prove to everyone what they learned this year! It's their day to shine.

Estamos muy cerca de fin de año!!!! Los niños definitivamente están listos para terminar. Han aprendido mucho y me ha encantado tenerlos este año. ¡Ha sido un paseo divertido! -We are done with our Math and Reading STAAR testing. Yay! Please do not forget we still have Science on Tuesday.

-Next week, I would still like to go over the extra chapter in our book before the year is over. It is introduction to 6th grade math, and our school year is not over yet.

We did it! Our kids have finished their math & reading STAAR tests! I am so proud of the hard work they've done all year long and I know they did their best! They still have their Science STAAR test next Tuesday, so please ensure they are still attending school and are here on time! Thank you for your support this year as we have worked hard to get here! In the next few weeks to the end of school, we are going to be completing a novel study over the book, Bud, Not Buddy. I hope they enjoy this book as much as I have!

A few reminders:

-Our field trip to Joyland is coming up! We will be going to Joyland on May 24! We will send out more information and details as we get closer!

-Our End of the Year Awards will be the following day on May 25! We hope to see everyone there supporting this amazing 5th grade class as they become 6th graders!
