3rd-5th Grade Fitness Gram

Did you know that all 3rd-5th grade students take a fitness assessment each year called Fitness Gram?

FitnessGram® is the most widely used youth physical fitness assessment, education and reporting tool in the world. Based on Healthy Fitness Zone® standards, created by the FitnessGram Scientific Advisory Board, FitnessGram uses criterion-based standards, carefully established for each age and gender.

FitnessGram assesses the five components of health-related fitness: Aerobic Capacity, Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance, Flexibility, and Body Composition.

Personalized reports provide objective, feedback and positive reinforcement which are vital to changing behavior. These reports serve as a communications link between teachers, parents, and students.

Coach Mistr and Coach Partain do an amazing job of educating students about the importance of the assessment, administering this assessment and using the results to guide their instructional planning for PE. In fact, because of all they do, we will have special guests on Wednesday, January 20th at Pink to observe them administering this assessment in PE classes. Our special guests include, Dr. Cooper from The Cooper Institute, Dr. Lyon and a few others. We are excited about the opportunity to share the awesome things that happen here at Pink!

Telling is Not Tattling: Reporting Bullying

Part of being a safe school at Pink Elementary involves providing a way for students and parents to report when someone has witnessed bullying. There are a few ways to report bullying. Each classroom has yellow forms students can fill out and give to their teacher or turn in to the office. There is also a link on Mrs. Andrew’s website that goes to a confidential form that will be monitored and investigated. You can always email your child’s teacher if you know of a problem happening at school. Thank you for working with our staff to make Pink a safe place to be!

Student Super Star

We want to celebrate your child's accomplishment outside of school with you! So, we are starting something new this year to do just that. You can share your child's accomplishment with us by completing the form by clicking on the box below and we will highlight your child on our school morning broadcast. We are proud of our Pink students and we want to celebrate them as often as we can! Please follow all guidelines outlined on the form for submission.
